Wolf Ranking System Novels & Stories

“Riv is stuck in the boring, average middle. And I’m not at the bottom, I’m not an omega, thank you very much.” I don’t entirely understand how their ranking system works, but I do know Alpha’s have to fight for their spot. And they can get challenged by other wolves and if they lose the fight, the victor becomes the new alpha. And that when wolf’s turn eighteen, they can find their mate, and their destined to be together. Wolves tend to only mate with one wolf for life. I wonder how the females in the packs are ranked and I guess the cubs don’t get a rank until they grow up. I know these two are cousins, but they don’t look anything alike. “Okay, third from the bottom then,” River amends.

He paused and looked around to see the attentive faces of everyone as he spoke, and then he continued speaking. "In order not to waste the spots, all wolf packs with quotas have put all of the candidates recommended by them in a rank." The huge screen at the training ground suddenly came to life, shining brightly as the second elder spoke. Everyone turned their attention to the screen as it began to show all the recommended candidates from each wolf pack and their wolf ranks. Most of them were moon wolves with a small number of blood wolves. Of course, there were very few werewolves who were not special werewolves that made it to the list.

My whole world changed that day actually. You see, on or around a wolf’s 12th birthday, their wolf’s status or rank can be scented by others, as our wolf is beginning to prepare to emerge. This also helps ranked wolves prepare the younger generation for their position, and responsibilities within the pack. The ranks are Alpha who is the leader of the pack. Beta who is the second to the Alpha. Gamma who is the third to the alpha. Deltas or warriors who are well the warriors or the packs protectors. Regular wolves who are the day to day wolves such as doctors, nurses, teachers, shop owners, and the like. The lowest ranked wolves are the Omegas. The Omegas are the maids, cooks, gardeners, baby

Master Callen picked up a piece of chalk and wrote four words across the board: Base – Core – Elite – Sovereign. “These,” he said, “are the four ranks that define who you are as a werewolf.” He faced us again. “You cannot train into a higher rank. You are born with it — marked by your wolf’s strength and the spirit the Moon Goddess gave you.” He pointed to the first word. “Base Rank. The most common. These wolves have ordinary energy. They make up most of the packs — workers, scouts, healers, and laborers. Strong in their own right, but not made for battle.”

She had a mane of wild brown and gold curls, and tanned skin, I couldn’t see her face but I nervously unfolded the note. “Rank?” Was all the note said and my stomach sank. This pack was entirely built on a ranking system, my aunt had spent the drive home from the airport explaining it, there was the elite tier, the best of the best, Alpha Abel held that spot, along with his beta and another warrior. After that there was the gold tier, this tier had 5 in each rank, gold 1, gold 2, and gold 3 for a total of 15 gold wolves. The silver tier was made up of 60 wolves, 20 in each rank. Bronze tier was where a majority of wolves ranked, it was made up of 150 wolves, 50 in each rank. And lastly there

Jo laughed. "Your friend is an omega. How can he have the rank of beta?" Tristan asked. "The Rogues don't rely an rank to keep the peace. It's a every wolf for themselves kinda system. If they have a special skill or trait that makes them useful to me, I make sure they are placed in seats of power. It serves the whole pack well." Jo smiled proudly. "Did Chad teach you this? That's not peace and power. That's chaos and destruction in a nutshell. Do your wolves, your pack, share the Bond?" Tristan asked knowing the answer.

"Oh my god... It's huge!" "I know right?! Look at its fangs!" I squinted my eyes at the large brown rogue, observing its blood stained fangs. Finally, I caught a glimpse of its dark incisors. Judging by its dark blue fangs, it was at least a B-rank. A wolf's rank can be determined by the color of its incisors. The scale ranges from white–the weakest, to indigo–the strongest. All pups start at white. Omegas like me can only reach pink at best, while betas can get to blue, which is rare. Alphas can achieve the highest indigo fangs. My teeth are still white, the same as the pups.

Lola asked. The employee did not even look at her, “That is classified information.” He pointed at the screen which showed a map, “So Lola. Your DNA had a unique resemblance to werewolf DNA. The DNA will give you the ability to transform into a werewolf. All we know about werewolves is that they used to live in packs and have a strict hierarchy inside these packs. Basically, Alpha and Luna are the highest, then beta and omega is the lowest. As far as we know they could transform whenever they want, and the status of the moon had no influence. They lived in rural areas far away from civilization, preferably forest areas. We suggest you start looking at the biggest forest right here; the Tonga

My eyes furiously scanned the pages as each page I read shocked me even more. In the werwolf community there are different packs, each pack has an Alpha who is the leader, a Beta who helps the Alpha and steps in when he's gone and a gamma who also helps. They are all in packs, like a pack of wolves only they are people. Another thing that shocked me that I had to read the page twice to see if I was imagining it was that these wolves can community through their minds, they can mind link each other. Also majority of the people are born into it, they have their first shift at the age of eighteen.

Mary really wanted to understand. “Okay, well first, everyone here…, and I mean everyone, is a wolf. That’s what makes us a pack… wolves hunt and live in packs and we protect and love each other as a family. So I am boss wolf and Gregg is my beta wolf, my second in command… kind of like vise president haha” Damon laughed as he said this. “After us everyone falls into levels of sort of status. It is based on bloodline, family status. Upper class , middle class type thing. Sarah”s family for example was middle class. Her mother was a teacher and her father was part of the border protection team.”
