Surprisingly, as the wolves were the size of two of the vampires, Gareth attacked first. He seemed to fly off the floor of the forest and directly towards Kairos. He stopped as Valentin launched off of his haunches and tried to clamp his mouth around the man’s neck.

I slashed across the first wolf’s throat, almost severing his head. The other two stopped for a moment and spread out. If Vilkas wanted me alive, it gave me an edge. I slid my fingers into my blood again. Surprisingly, there wasn’t as much and the pain lessened. Vilkas flew over my head and slammed into the wall. The wolves looked at Sable. The vampire attacked one of them and he went down. I slid my sword into the heart of the other. A roar came from behind me and I knew Vilkas wasn’t dead. This time it was Sable who went over my head in a leap I wouldn’t have believed if I hadn’t seen it. He landed on Vilkas and I heard a horrible crack. The wolf went still.

Vevian had suddenly become too strong for him. Alastor watched the slight hesitation on his face and fake courage that he showed and knowing the he was truly just a wimp he shifted into his wolf and jumped over him making Vlad move out of his way and try to kick his back but Alastor had already predicted that attack kicking back his hind legs he made Vlad go crashing into the coffee table, breaking it under his weight.
