“I will not allow her anywhere near you.” Luna gently placed her hand over his. “We will confront her together.” “We will eliminate her together,” he amended. Before Luna could reply, a scream pierced the air. Not an ordinary scream. A wolfscream. Pure agony. Luna sprang to her feet. “That originated from the west.” Adrian was already shifting beside her. His clothes tore apart in a violent burst of movement, fur erupting from his skin as he dropped to all fours—massive, powerful, and terrifying.

Now, as if fate hasn't fucked him up already, he is crying due to the same person for vastly different reasons. The Wolf has never tasted defeat like this, filling his mouth like cremated ashes and somber, black-tie funerals. He has to stop this. This is weak, unbecoming of an Alpha. His grief has soaked deep through to the marrow in his bones, and he can't turn the faucet off. He can't shut it up anymore. Victor cries pitifully, curled in, head resting on his knees. It doesn't pass, welling up thick and black.

For the first time since they had entered the chamber, the dark crack appeared unstable. Weakening. Caleb blinked. “Oh. It’s actually working.” Then came the scream. Everyone froze. It echoed up through the lower tunnels beneath the chamber, the raw cry of a soldier in terrible agony. Another scream followed, then snarling, wet and vicious. Ryan’s wolf surged to the surface, claws itching beneath his skin. “What was that?” Caleb moved toward the tunnel entrance carefully, blade raised. “Either the mountain is killing them for us…” A howl interrupted him, clear and familiar. A pack wolf.

I say angrily as I feel my claws to come out again, tearing at the blanket. "Everyone out!" Xavier yells to them as they all leave, and he gets to shut the door I've begun to pant, my eyes glowing, I stagger off the bed growling. Xavier watched me from the door. I keep moving towards him, my bones then start to snap, I howl in pain falling on the floor. Xavier growls as he shifts into his wolf, waiting to see what will happen.

Luna whispered to the air. She yanked what was left of the ember up, up, up, into her chest, into her arms, into her throat. She didn't have enough left for a clean wind-blast. But sound? She had sound. She sucked in a breath deep enough to hurt. Then she *screamed*. Not words. A raw, ripping howl that tore from her gut and through her human throat, laced with every ounce of power she had left. It hit the wolves like a physical blow.

"Unleash your wolves!” A savage roar erupted from the warriors as bones cracked violently beneath flesh. The sounds of transformation tore through the night. Spines twisted. Jaws elongated. Claws burst from human hands. One after another, massive wolves emerged around the fire, their growls vibrating through the earth itself. Black wolves. Silver wolves. Creatures with eyes glowing gold in the dark. The clearing behind us descended into a glorious chaos. And standing at the center of it all, I grabbed Leinna by the wrist and pulled her up from the fallen log beside me before thrusting her away from the frenzy.

Nathaniel relaxed deeply in his Van as he tried to reactivate his Wolverine traits without shifting fully. It was a technique most wolves were taught, as in their human forms they were still stronger, faster and fiercer than humans. They just needed to control how much they internally shifted to enhance these qualities. He relaxed, he brought out Kiara's blood cloth patch and sniffed it deeply. It was still slightly fresh if it stayed for some days more. Her scent would fade and it would become odourless.

The augmented wolves hesitated, their glowing eyes flickering as they followed their handlers into the shadows. When the clearing fell silent, Vivi dropped to her knees beside Lexa once more. Her hands trembled as they brushed against Lexa’s fur, her breath catching in uneven gasps. "You’re okay," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "You’re okay." With a soft whine, Lexa shifted back into her human form, her silver markings faint but steady. Her tearful gaze met Vivi’s, her voice barely above a whisper. "I’m sorry," she choked out. "I thought leaving was the only way to protect you."

I My body shakes, vibrating with anger. With sorrow. My mind refused to give up on her. This is not how she was meant to leave this realm. How she was meant to leave… me. “Arggghh!” I cry out to the darkened sky in pure agony as my heart shatters. I howl. And it’s the most sorrowful sound. I can feel my wolf’s misery. As grief begins to shroud him too. Snow falls with speed, pelting its way onto my face. I’m partially shifted and the crackle of magnified electricity shoots through me. I scream at the goddess, the gods, cursing them to hell.

Tears are streaming down my face. “Tate!” I scream out, praying that the sleeping wolf beside me wakes up quickly. I don’t know how much of this pain I can endure. Feeling my mate jump out of bed, I catch his green orbs glowing, searching for danger. His bright eyes soon land on my curled-up form. I whimper as another wave of pain shoots through me, the tears continuing to flow.
