Lena remained peaceful, but there was something about her now, an energy humming just beneath the surface. Orion let out a low curse. “Then we might have a serious problem.” I turned to him sharply. “Why?” He exhaled. “Because wolves born under an Eclipse aren’t just rare. They’re… unnatural.” Zara shot him a glare. “Seriously? That’s what you’re going with? Unnatural?”

They knelt down and pushed my sweat laced raven hair away from my face, their eyes open and kind. “Hello.” The one with brown eyes and rainbow hair said sweetly, his tone low and soft. “Hello.” I responded nervously, watching him for any sign of aggression. “Why are you laid on the ground?” The second wolf asked me, his blue eyes curious and yet humorous. I sighed, knowing that I should think before I speak, not all tribes were friendly to strangers. “I tripped and I am unable to get back up, I was in the glass tubes for days without food or water.”

But the moon turned away in the opposite direction, where the image of the snow demon, Marun, appeared. He was also in his true essence as a demonic beast. Rylan stiffened instantly. “Not possible.” Kade swore. “That can’t be—” Lyra’s heartbeat tripped. The wolf lowered its head… in a bow. “What is that?” she whispered. I took a breath in to shout my heart out as my last ditch effort before death when another scream breached the cruel forest.

He was clad in the armor of a general, his raven-crest insignia gleaming in the candlelight. She could feel the breath catch in her chest, her heart thudding painfully against her ribs. Was it really him? Was he here, in front of her, as the empire’s prized weapon? Nia took a step forward, her feet moving of their own accord. But before she could close the distance, a chill swept through her. The hairs on her neck stood on end as if her wolf soul recognized him even before she could see his eyes.

The uncertainty gnawed at me. I flipped through the pages, absorbing every detail. The text described the white wolves' abilities in vivid detail: their capacity to heal wounds with a touch, to manipulate the elements, and to draw strength from the earth itself. These abilities were a direct gift from the moon goddess, who had created the white wolves to maintain balance and harmony in the world. The other wolves, lacking these divine gifts, grew resentful and ultimately conspired to wipe out the white wolves to eliminate the perceived threat to their own power.
