Wolves That Walk Alone Novels & Stories

I knew he wasn't waiting for an answer. "Ever so eager for answers." He gave me a sidelong glance and kept walking toward the balcony, looking outside as if he was expecting someone. "There are two kinds of wolves you need to know about. The first are werewolves — that's us. The second are the rogues. They spend the rest of their lives on their wolf form, alone, despite how dangerous it is, we're pack-oriented by nature, and we need to be together, as a family." I sat on the bed and listened intently, watching his broad back and tall frame as he kept staring outside.

Film images of bloodthirsty animals with huge fangs and claws, tearing people apart, came to mind. “Just don’t faint, mistress,” the guy said worriedly, observing her shocked look. - I think you will be against me touching you. And it is unknown how long you remain unconscious. And I’m not eager to touch you. He pointed his hand at her, and his tone was serious, without a hint of amusement. The thought of being touched by a werewolf made her dizzy. Anika took a deep breath, trying to keep her sanity and calm her anxiety. But this guy didn't look like the bloodthirsty beast from the movies. Quite a cute dog, or rather a wolf, with silky fur. The ideas about werewolves did not add up to the ex

Blakely We were swarmed by wolves, all eager to speak to us and welcome their Goddess back into the fold. Their eyes swam with hope and awe as they watched Katya lead us through the cavern. They steered clear of Shax’s massive form, but I couldn’t blame them. The God of Fear was rather fearsome. As we ventured further, past makeshift tents and rickety cots, I realized not everyone here was a wolf. There were other species of immortal, many of which I’d seen back in the city of a Thousand Faces.

- Don't do anything stupid! Michael said as he walked past me. How does he piss me off... We soon reached the point where I saw feral wolves, in no way inferior to those creatures that we fought against in my home magical world. A flock of huge beasts with distraught eyes. Even being a wolf, I would be like a fly to them. And there are five of them. Throughout the glade there was a fetid smell of the decomposed remains of the people they had eaten and other living creatures. Catching our scent, they pounced on us.

That was the odd sensation that I got when the supposed attacks occurred, they were just wandering, searching for their salvation. “So, all the banished and maltreated wolves are wandering around our border trying to find this Blessed Wolf?” I asked aloud, not really expecting an answer. “I have bad news for you , there aren’t any Blessed Wolves in Grey Moon. They are very rare and I would definitely know if there was one in our pack. I’m sorry.” Sadness loomed for a moment in my study. We were all lost in thoughts and Rune had an expression of defeat on her face.

I hope to find more to wear. “Wolves are pack animals, we are not meant to be alone. A pack is run by the strongest; Alpha, Beta, Delta and Head warrior. Every move and decision we make is for the protection and betterment of the pack.” I hear feet hitting the floor, I look to the stairs and see Alec making his way over to us. I think this is the first time I have heard any of them walking. Their steps are eerily quiet. Part of being a predator I suppose, the perfect hunter. Alec takes a seat and Cain continues to inform me about rogues.

Death. The foul taste of desiccation and blood hovers in the air around me. It becomes more potent as they near the border. It was rogues. Judging from their potency they're close, infesting the unclaimed area past the border. A lone wolf's natural enemy is a rogue; they can sense it and give you that push into insanity. Lone wolves aren't supposed to exist. Wolves hunt in packs, even rogues. Our bonds with our packs keep us sane. Without them; wolves are as good as dead, so most become rogues because it's easier to live without a conscious than live fighting yourself. Your spirit. Your wolf.

"I don't trust these witches. They are here to spy on us." I pushed her gently aside. We will need all the help we can. "Relax, Julian. Let's see what they can do." "Please continue with your meeting. I take it she's the alpha?" Anna gestured to the watching people. That was a sensitive subject. The wolves here don't have an alpha. They were what we called the lone wolves. They weren't rogues because they didn't abandon their packs and choose to be without a leader. There were so many things to learn about wolves.

It was during one of those evenings of sulking, it came across a male wolf. It easily caught and immobilized him with a paw on his chest. The creature looked like it had been packless for a while; it wasn’t so hard to tell. There were no recent scents of other wolves surrounding the animal. And he had that look of sadness in his eyes. Being without a pack wasn’t just a big deal for only werewolves. It was also the same thing for their lesser counterparts; wolves. These animals weren’t meant to live alone, they needed each other. The wolf looked miserable. The rogue life wasn’t easy.

The solitary support her form could offer was to match my consumption in absolute solidarity. By the exact marker the final clay flagon was completely emptied, my motor functions were thoroughly paralyzed. My muscular structure failed to sustain my posture, forcing my upper torso to slump heavily across the counter while my fangs muttered incoherent, drunken gibberish. “My system commands zero requirement for a male partner. My perimeter contains loyal pack-friends. That data is more than sufficient to balance my biology. Is it not exceptionally liberating to navigate the wilderness single and completely unchained? Why would my internal wolf ever willingly invite a male to complicate the gri
