Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, Dancing With Fate. Dancing With Fate was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. Though you can enjoy the story in its interactive format too as currently published. (eg when Trayton speaks, the format will be as this: Trayton ~ “Are you dumb asses ready to go?”)

And I smiled even wider, as Reese’s eyes sparkled with delight as she matched my steps. “Dance like nobody’s watching. Just us and the stars.” She smiled as she swayed to the music, her laughter blending with the melodies that surrounded us. As the moon cast its shimmering light upon a dancing Reese, I found myself in a moment of pure enchantment. The rhythm of the crashing waves matched the beating of my heart as she moved in perfect harmony.

It made her face flushed. "Ella don't think about last night, she mumbled to herself." "She took her outfit and went to take a shower." "Leo, are you not going to eat breakfast?" asked Freya Davies. "No mom I am not hungry for now you guys carry on." "Of course you will not eat here," Daniel said with a smirk. "Nonsense," Leo mumbled Leo flopped into his car and drove towards Ella's apartment. Ella wore a simple sky blue floral dress with her hair ties in a loose side braid. And as usual applied a pink lipstick on her pinkish soft lips. She then wore the star pendant on her neck which was given by Leo.

With the mellow sound of the stereo, she started dancing. She was still holding his hands while she danced. She smiled at him again and lured him to dance with her. He swayed a little just so she wouldn't be upset. They dance along with the sweet music on the stereo but the way she dances has suddenly changed. It became seductive and he felt his need.

I push the single sofa to the corner and I start to play a music, instantly the soft melodramatic sound of piano filled his office. 'Watch me' I mouthed while gesturing my hand as my body move getting along with the music. I look at Vicenzo through his eyes "I wanna be your light" I whisper softly immitating the first line of the song and then I take a single step forward and lift my left leg moving elegantly before I spin and hug myself. It was a swift move. I'm counting inside my head doing the same contemporary ballet that I always dance in front of my mother's grave.

Sky announces, winking before swaying her hips toward the bar. I turn to Katie. "Let’s dance?" She scoffs. "Uh, no. I need alcohol pumping through my veins before I even think about stepping onto that dance floor." I sigh. "Fine. We’ll wait for Sky." Katie groans, tugging at the hem of her scandalously short dress. "Let’s sit down before these six-inch heels end me. How do you always manage in these?" I smirk, flipping my blonde hair over my shoulder. "Talent, babe. Talent."

The wedding invite said the ceremony was in the afternoon, and as I was about to book a ride, Sunny piped up, "We're not seriously going like this, are we? Let's hit the mall and find something snazzy to wear." Glancing down at my laid-back gear, she had a point. Off to the mall we went. Sunny picked out a dazzling wine-red dress and got her hair done up nicely. That's when I saw her, really saw her, without the lab coat and nerdy glasses; she was stunning. Caught staring, she gave me a confident spin and tidied up my tie, "Mr. Rogers, I won't cramp your style, will I?" Her subtle bookish charm mixed with a hint of perfume hit me. I finally understood why we clicked so fast.

“Nobody calls me Astrid. And those lines won’t work on me, you'd have to try harder.” Zayden chuckled, the sound rich and low. “It’s a genuine observation, I am not trying to fake anything. And I think I like Astrid better.” The smile he gave her was annoyingly perfect and disgustingly beautiful. “Whatever…” Trudy muttered, rolling her eyes. She tried to sound dismissive, but her stomach betrayed her, dropping at the weight of his gaze. “What made you ask me to dance?” His smirk returned, sharper this time, cutting through the music and lights like a secret only she was meant to hear.

(The sky is the color of the sky, life is obvious) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Joy took over the rap and Aira looked at me dead in the eye as she leaped on my torso, wounding her legs firmly and sang the next stanza to me and true to her word, or rather the song’s lyrics, tears started to patter down her eyes while our noses slotted close to each other’s which brought our quivering lips even closer. Jax and Ryder would not hesitate to kill me on the spot if our lips even accidentally bumped against each other’s but none of us cared about it right now- too lost in each other’s homely embrace as one of my arms supported her entire weight while the other one roughly rotated her head

Rachel and Miles slowly danced barefoot under the string lights while Aurora tried to teach Miranda how to twirl. I looked up at the sky. And I thought, This is it. Not the end. Not even the middle. Just one of those rare, quiet chapters where everything feels exactly as it should.
