“They didn’t leave because they were afraid for you. They left because they couldn’t stand to look at you.”
Her hands curled into fists, but she said nothing.
“You’re not a wolf,” he went on, each word slow, deliberate. “You’re a hollow shell wearing a wolf’s skin. No wolf inside. Just… nothing.”
She flinched as if he’d struck her.
“A worthless creature,” Cian continued. “Filthy, weak, pitiful. Even your wolf looked at you and walked away. Do you know how pathetic that is? To be rejected by the one part of you that’s supposed to be yours forever?”
