Behind me… Xavier doesn’t move. Doesn’t speak. But something inside him shifts. Cracks. Because the truth is— I’m right. And that’s the one thing he can’t afford.

Xavier then twisted the knob and immediately left his cabin. ~~~💗~~~

Then he leaned back in his seat and wiggled his index and middle fingers toward the metal cube, causing it to shift back and forth in the direction Jordan's fingers moved. Xander slammed on the brakes abruptly. Luckily, the road was empty. He looked at Jordan. "You... What are you doing?"

"Yes, yes you are right. But how?" Stefanos peered down at the Boar as well, but unlike Xenia, he neither grimaced nor gave a reaction, his face was set in a dead glare before the words left his mouth. "Simple. We need to shift." -Zohara --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Xavier starts to run, running through a few lone Shifters on the way. "Ray!" He calls, while punching a few of the Shifters around him. On Xavier's back, I still manage to produce a small spear, weakly throwing it into another that was beating on Ray's head. As we get a clear view, I flinch as I see several terrible wounds covering his neck and body. One of the Shifters must have hit him repeatedly with the flail-like branches, because the same puncture marks I saw on Jake are abundant on Ray's chest.

She shrugged and continued eating. "She's in the woods looking for her earphones," Christina said. "But it's getting dark. She should be home by-" Xavier was cut off by a crack which is coming from him. He cussed in pain. We all looked at him, surprised. Linda dropped the bag of chips on the table and moved closer to Xavier like what I'm doing. "Bring him out. He's shifting!" I carried him then Linda opened the door that leads to the backyards. Christina appeared at his side. If Xavier is shifting that means-Samantha is shifting.

His mother said. "Ah!" He sighs again. "Ok, that's it, get up!" His mother got up and was ready to pull him off the sofa, but Xander shakes his head and held onto the sofa tightly. "Alexa shifted yesterday and...." "Alexa shifted?!" She cuts him off. Xander nods. "Yeah, that's what I said!" "She shifted!" She said as if she couldn't believe her ears. She does a little happy dance.. Xander simply stares at her as she dances to her heart content.

Zayn could hurt him easily with one hit in that situation. Hence, the best way now was to dodge Zayn’s attack first. Xander retreated over ten meters at an extremely swift speed. His movements produced a gush of gale out of nowhere that blew the fallen branches and wilted leaves in the surroundings, leaving a clean band of ground.

He paced back and forth, muttering under his breath, checking the monitors every few seconds. The signal moved slightly. A small shift, but enough to indicate that Cynthia might have been relocated. Xavier’s heart leapt and sank at the same time. “They moved her,” he said, his voice low but tense. The team nodded, quickly recalculating the coordinates. The signal was strong enough now to narrow down potential locations, but the movement meant urgency. Someone had her and was possibly trying to evade detection. Every second was critical.

Before— I would have explained. Justified. Softened myself to make others comfortable. Now— I don’t. --- Internal Shift They think I advanced too quickly. They think this is luck. Circumstance. Favour. They don’t understand— Nothing about this is accidental. --- Private Conversation The office empties gradually. The hum of conversation fades. The glass walls reflect only shadows now. Xavier stands. Walks to the blinds. Closes them. The soft click echoes louder than expected. Private. Controlled.
