A moment before Einar pushes forward I look at Xander. “What is it?” Einar pushes the shift but Xander answers me in the mind link. ‘Vampires!’

" I felt relieved when I saw the row of vehicles coming up the drive. Finally, we can get the hell out of this hell hole. "Were you able to find anyone who's capable of holding this place down until an elder gets here?" I asked Xander, who was supposed to be doing that job, not flirting with pact members. "Yeah apparently that guy over there with the red hair has beta blood. Although he never was one, and neither was his dad. But I figured it'll do until the elders get here." Xander said, making me groan and roll my eyes.

Xander lost and he was beaten to death. It was something that they had never expected! Who was Xander? He was the vice president of the Northmob Council, a big shot in his social circle who defeated countless renowned skilled fighters. He was so powerful that he could cause an earthquake with just a stamp of his foot. On the other hand, a big shot like Xander was actually beaten to death by Zayn in the meantime. Most importantly, Zayn was someone who had recently emerged over the past six months. Most people did not know him in the past.

“But I never imagined that would lead to her death. So many distress signals, and I didn’t respond to a single one. How desperate she must’ve been…” “But Seraphina is gone now. We must keep moving forward. Don’t forget your duty as a werewolf warrior.” Hudson could only offer this cold comfort. “I know!” Xander gazed at the glacier. “I stayed here because of my duty.” Later, Xander saved one werewolf after another from the glacier. But he never saw me. Until one day, when he saved a lost wolf cub and was gravely wounded, near death. “Seraphina, I’m badly hurt.”

I mean I have only know one other person liek you and that was serveral hundred years ago!"

She hastily asked him. “Yeah, what you're saying does make absolute sense but there's something you need to understand. It's not just the color of your eyes, but your aura and scent. Everything about you seems different. Although it's faint, you have the scent of a shapeshifter, it's almost like your scent is masked. All shapeshifters have a general scent, some stronger than others. A werewolf’s scent is weaker than a Lycan’s scent. You might not understand all that I'm saying now, but you'll get there later. About your eyes, not just anybody could have such color of eyes. Only one type of creature called Dragonas has Orchid purple eyes. And I believe you're a descendant of these creatures.”

My dad helped me get my luggage from the trunk and so when we went in we waited for Amber, so I just pulled my phone out of my sweatpants ok, see I did not want to wear tight jeans or a cute dress for over 19 hours in a plane so I just wore the same thing I wore at home. Scrolling through my phone I felt someone tap my should and I look up to see my mum point at something or should I say someone I look over my shoulder to see a familiar brunette I couldn't recognize until they turned around was Amber! Xander “Please everyone,” Aurora, her voice steady but infused with urgency, sought to calm the agitated crowd. "Mr. Xander discovered our existence two years ago when he traced my blood donation in the city. He figured out I was a werewolf but kept it secret from everyone, including the government. He's been compensating me for my blood bi-monthly donation for his research. And he's even willing to offer compensation for your blood."

My thoughts were all over the place Saturday. I’d barely slept after I’d gotten home. All I could think about was him – Xander – and his promise to come to me again. I was nervous. I was excited. What did I want to ask? I guess I should start with the things I know about vampires, or think I know. I’ve read Dracula; huge fan of The Lost Boys; big into Buffy the Vampire Slayer – but those were all pop-culture references, and so far, none of that seemed true: Xander didn’t wear a cape, he hadn’t turned into a bat that I’d seen, and his face didn’t get all bumpy when he bit someone.
