I state. “Why would she? They might be dating but he was still a challenger so she had to show him why challenger her is a terrible idea. I do know that Tianya is taking care of him. I was also told that Xavier and Sam spent hours laughing at his predicament.” Everly tells me. “I am not surprised. Maybe I should tell Tianya and Kylynn that Sam and Xavier need a good challenge and see how long they last.” I snark.

I turn around to ask Zander what is going on, only to find him down on one knee, holding a little box in his hands. “What are you….” I trail off as he begins to talk. “Ashleigh Kylie Steward, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. The driver’s face was swollen up from the beating, and he stared at Kayson viciously as he replied, “Logan Zabinski.” Kayson nodded and said, “I heard from Mr. Walton Sr. that you said I’ll die if we don’t release you? Who do you work for?” Logan stared at Kayson and replied, “I work for Mr. Xander Campbell!” Kayson did not know him, but Bradley frowned and said, “Xander Campbell? When did we offend him?” He then explained to Kayson, “Xander is a famous entrepreneur in Clouspring. He has many companies under his name, and all of them are large corporations.

“Mr. Xander.” The contact lasted barely a second before she withdrew her hand. Her gaze slid past him without lingering. She remembered Zac and Skyla both saying he was injured. If they were talking about it, it had to be serious. Yet he looked perfectly fine. “Mr. Xander,” her colleagues said eagerly. It was her two colleagues’ first time meeting Chris in person. He was the man at the helm of the Xander empire, known for his decisive and ruthless tactics in the business world, yet strikingly handsome in a way that drew attention the moment he entered a room.

“I’d rather believe someone thought they’d make it.” Carolina leaned down, close enough to smell the honest funk of his sweat, and marveled at the seeds, small as data points, the kind of thing most would miss or stomp over. “You’ll plant them here?” “I will if you help,” Xander said, and looked up at her, and in that single moment there was no war, no machinery, no Vale, no old betrayals at all.

I admired his photos and secretly saved a few. He said to stay away from him but it didn’t mean I wasn’t allowed to have pictures of him. As I continued to scroll down, I noticed a familiar name that liked all of his older pictures.
