“You? Adapt? You’re a relic, Xavier. A rusted name living off fear and nostalgia.” I smiled—cold, deliberate. “Let me show you adaptation.” I pressed a button on my intercom. “Tell Dem to bring in the Eclipse files.” That got his attention. His smirk faltered, just for a breath.“What’s Eclipse?” I leaned forward, locking eyes with him. “That’s the future. And you’re just in time to witness it.” He scoffed, trying to recover. “I’m shaking in my boots, Xavier.” “You should be.” There’s no Eclipse file. But he doesn’t need to know that.

I snapped, sitting up. "You want to," He hummed. "I imagine what you thought when you stalked my gram page." I gasped. "How on earth... how did you know?!" He laughed a deep rumble. "I have my ways love. You do not want to see me without the clothes? You do not want to run your soft nimble fingers down my chest, you do not want to see the things I could do to you?" I flushed, panting heavily from his words. Who the hell was Xavier Barnes? He hadn't even touched me and there was that yearning low in my belly. Heat pooled in my panties and I sighed.

I felt someone behind me and realized I am still very close to Devin. "Sorry" I muttered and moved away from him. My arms were around my body as I hugged myself tight not knowing what else to do at that moment. Xavier didn't bother to look back at me, as he packed the heavy books together and threw them up. He stared at it for a while as if waiting to see if they would fall, but as nothing happened, he walked back to Devin and smirked. "Keep your bloody hands to yourself" Xavier poked his chest and walked away.

I nodded to Xavier, he had every right to hate me, and if that made him feel better, then I would take it. I closed my eyes as he raised the knife and waited for him to plunge it deep into my chest. My brother says he got into a fight last semester that put two guys in the hospital, and he didn't even get a slap on the wrist. Just don't make eye contact. He hates freshmen."

Flame Knight 1 (raising a warblade): "You were never meant to live long enough to awaken." Xavier (panting, smirking): "Too bad I'm stubborn." The Crown Wolf, barely visible to others, circles Xavier — a phantom of smoke and flame, eyes glowing like dying stars. As one knight charges, Xavier sidesteps and drives his fist—infused with the wolf's power—straight into his chest. The knight is hurled back into the wall, stone shattering on impact. , Xavier smirked while I glared at him with hatred and disgust. He then cupped Rose’s face and wiped off her tears. “I love you Rose”, he said while pecking her lips. She smiled back. “I love you too Xavier” End of flashback~ Present time “But what you didn’t knew was that you’re not dealing with a random criminal. You’re dealing with Xavier Knight, a Mafia King, the Leader of Black Swan and most importantly with the most dangerous and WANTED CRIMINAL of America” Xavier growled with clenched jaw as he stabbed me after each and every word. Tears kept streaming down my eyes.

The morning sun broke sharply through the floor-to-ceiling windows of Xavier’s private penthouse, casting long, golden geometric shadows across the minimalist space. For the first time in months, the heavy, suffocating weight of the Knight dynasty felt distant. Xavier stood by the marble kitchen island, clad in a crisp, clean white shirt with the sleeves rolled to his elbows, a cup of black coffee steaming in his hand. He hadn't slept much, but he wasn't tired. His mind was entirely locked onto the memory of the night before—the warmth of Selah’s skin in that shadow-drenched alcove, the breathless surrender of their first kiss, and the quiet, fierce promise they had sealed between them.

Like a rabid wolf, the Knight lashed out in wrath striking the venerable champion with his blade despite being made of flesh and bone. Kent’s blade was able to slice through the Xerroh-Adamantine armor as if it were a piece of paper the knights were slowly being torn through by their former leader as he fell into rage and madness as they tried to subdue him. The knights tried to restrain him with cables and restrict his movement with their halberds only to fail as the blade evolved from a sword into a double-bladed scythe slicing through the cables with great ease.
