He kissed me, then waved from the car window as it drove off. I turned and walked back into the house. It felt quiet—too quiet. And I knew it wasn’t because I was alone. It was because the person standing in front of me… was still here. “How many days is Dent gone for?” Xavier asked. “That’s none of your business,” I replied coldly. Xavier stepped out of his room.
