The beasts just kept coming and coming, an endless stream of them. The Nightweavers and the kings and queens were fighting bravely, but there were just too many enemies. Nyxoria made a decision. She closed her eyes and reached deep inside herself, connecting with the bond she shared with Obsidian, her dragon wolf. And then she called out with her mind and her voice at the same time.

Before I could fully process his words, Nia seized the opportunity to respond on my behalf. "I would love to," she interjected, her enthusiasm apparent. I covered my mouth in surprise, realising that it was my wolf who had given the response. Kane looked at me, amusement dancing in his eyes. "What's her name?" he inquired, already aware of the true source of the response. "Nia," I answered, and he nodded in acknowledgement. "Myself and Blade would be honoured, Nia," he acknowledged, and my wolf purred contentedly in my mind.

Xana turns slightly the other way and holds out her other hand, like Blade, Silas doesn’t hesitate to slide his hand into her and step up next to her. Then at the same time they both step even closer wrapping their arms around her waist. Taking a deep calming breath Xana then says, “High Elders Nami and Sora will now join us on stage to perform the coronation and crowning ceremony making me and my chosen’s equals.”

Jaxson and Grayson are next as Sophia floats above us, and with us - our army follows. Slow at first, only to start running. Faster and faster. With every step closer, our purpose only grows fiercer. Their eyes glowed faintly. Enhanced. Lena backed toward the cryo pod. “Nyx is the override. She can shut them down if she’s stabilized.” Roman shouted over the gunfire. “And if she’s not?” “She’ll kill all of us!” Alma stepped forward, heart racing. She looked into the pod, into those mirrored eyes, and pressed her hand against the glass.
