Fenrir POV. Waking up on the grass, I groan as I sit up. Fucking wolfsbane. This plant needs destroying. What is the point of being immortal if I can still be brought down by a fucking plant? Looking around, dead bodies litter the ground and Xena sits on the back steps. Standing, I stagger towards her. She doesn’t move, she just looks at me with tears in her eyes. “I’m so sorry Fen. I didn’t know what he had planned.” She sobs and I growl, grabbing her by her throat, lifting her up in the air.

Xander "Brother!" I raised my head at my Sage's call. I had been going over the never-ending paperwork that went along with managing our foundation and investments. I welcomed any distraction I could get. "What's happening, baby sister?" I laced my hands behind my head and stretched as she came running through my study door. "I was down near Four Corners and there's a woman camped there. The woman." I raised my eyebrows in question. "The one from town, Vivi Fenrir. I never dreamed she'd come so close to our property. Whatever we thought we had in terms of preparation window, we had significantly less. "There's something else," Fen said. He reached into the document folder he'd had on the table since we sat down, pulled out three pages, and set them in front of Xavier. I leaned forward to read. It was a contact list. Wolves Seraphine's handlers had approached across multiple packs in the last year. Some marked as declined. Some marked as turned. It was the turned column I was looking at. Three names on the turned list had a notation beside them. Not a pack name. A location code that resolved, when I cross-referenced Fen's key at the bottom of the page, to Silvercrest territory.

The large lonely mansion which oozed nothing but affluence did not only house these money making halls but also had rooms above which caged workers who made this money and the bosses who ruled over them. The workers were members of X-habit, a crime conglomerate whose activities were no lesser than running guns, doing drugs and the like. The Big Four: Steven Chase, Baron Sage, Iphan Carter and Kane Richmond bossed over the conglomerate, with Steven as the head, more of a Godfather.
