Eva responds, and I feel her surge forward, eager despite our exhaustion. I run at full speed, trying to attack him from below since he's so much bigger than me. But Anton anticipates it—Xavier's golden eyes track every movement—and he catches me mid-leap with his jaws, throwing me away from him.
