He jerked me up by using my hair while I let out a soft whimper "This is just me carrying out my dare" A growl that shook the mansion was heard, Xavier squeezed his eyes shut and when he flicked his eyes open, his eyes were pitch black! Extremely darkened! He stood rigid on the stairs as his knees reversed direction and the cracking sound of bones was heard. Dark fur sprouted from his body as his face changed shape and the wolf's muzzle extended out in front of him. The clothes he had on tore as the size of his body increased.

They took down all the rogues in about five minutes. “Brother, something isn’t right, this was too easy”, Xavier mind linked Xander.

It had been two days since the date she had with Xavier and she could only say one thing for sure, he had changed, she could see the way he looked at her, like she was his all and she was damned if she ever thought she would be able to tell him the truth, her chance had long past and if the truth was being told, she just didn't want to tell him anymore, she could no longer see a life without him, he evolved around her life and she just couldn't let go, not when they were this so close, not when she was living her dream life, the kind of life that some years ago, she could only think to be nothing but a dream, it was all real now and she couldn't lose it.

My chest aches so badly that it feels hard to breathe. “And nothing even happened,” I cry. “We never even—” “I know,” Xavier says immediately. Before I realize it, he’s pulling me gently into his chest. One arm wraps around me while the other rubs slow circles against my back. “I know.” My tears soak into his shoulder. “He’s an asshole,” Xavier mutters quietly, anger slipping into his voice for the first time. “And I’ll make sure he faces the consequences.” “What was he even thinking?” I whisper more to myself than anyone else. “Why would he do something like that?”

Men like Xavier speak in load-bearing sentences without ever checking what they're holding up. I turn in the chair and look up at him and let my face do the thing it's so good at doing. I give a soft, grateful, a little breathless face of a woman hearing exactly the words she's always wanted and I say it back. And God help me, some ruined, girlish sliver of me still means it, even now, even with everything already coiled and waiting beneath my skin. That's the particular horror of loving a man like Xavier. The love doesn't die when you decide to destroy him.
