The moon was high in the sky, casting a soft glow over the lush foliage; a peaceful place to the chaos in my heart. Alex's musky, earthy aroma blew toward me on the light breeze and my body responded before my mind could catch up; a warmth pooled in my stomach. Stepping out from the shadows, his voice low and intense, he murmured, "You can't ignore this. We’re bonded, Elysia." I stepped back, my palms sweaty.
