“As I told you earlier, this world is just like yours. Now you have seen how your death will occur, it is left for you to avoid it, if you want to stay alive.” Suddenly, I began to feel myself being pulled away. “What is happening?” I asked, my body slowly fading away. “You’re waking up.” She said softly, still not looking at me. “Who are you?” I screamed, and I was quickly fading. “Ask your friend, the one who woke up from the dead.” She answered, finally turning to me. “And Ava?” She called, “You must stay alive.” And with that, I snapped up, breathing heavily. I stared around. I was back in my room, and Caleb and Xavier were standing beside my bed with two of the elders.

I had woken up in a hospital bed roughly four days after the rejection. Just before I woke up, there had been a fuzzy period of time in which my brain was starting to adjust to consciousness again. During that period, a part of me fought with my body about whether I should wake up at all. It was not that I wanted to die. It was that I was scared. Of what, I was not certain... but I knew that once I woke up, I was going to be forced to face a reality that I was not sure that I wanted to be a part of.

When she woke again, she was lying on a hospital bed. The damning images from the black box surged back into her mind. She yanked out her IV needle in a blind frenzy. A nurse, catching sight of her wild struggle, quickly restrained her, shouting for a doctor to sedate her. "I want to see Kurt…" … I was at home, recovering, when my phone wouldn't stop ringing. My mother, finally unable to bear the noise, urged me softly. "Who keeps calling? Could it be something urgent?" I glanced at the glowing screen. That number—I could recognize it with my eyes closed.

Nothing makes sense right now. "Wake up and stop trying to figure things out, you dead girl," the voice says again, and my eyes jolt wide open in instant remembrance, memories coming back to me like flashes of light. Everything that happened in the cabin. From when we got in till how Dylan stabbed me, till how I died. Wait, I died? Why am I still able to think, and hear. It's like I'm still living. Taking in my surroundings, I look up and see the bright blue sky. I'm lying down on a mat placed on a really smooth but hard ground.

I was do fucking tired. “Like I said, it wasn't your time to die. You are going to go back out there and do what your mind tells you to do.” She stated more firmly making sure I saw how serious she was. I kept quiet. I didn't even know what to say anymore. It was all so overwhelming. From being dead for over four months, then waking up and being told it wasn't my tone to die. It all felt like a dream. A very horrible dream which I wished to be woken up from.

Mm… So hot… Like fire. “Wake up.” A gentle voice whispered to me. I grunted in reply. No. I’m tired and I just want to sleep until the end of time. “I command you to wake up, Kay.” The voice whispered in my ear. I shook my head slightly and started to drift again. No, damn it. Go the hell away! “Come on Karen… Don’t be so stubborn. Please wake up for me…” Wait… I’m alive still? Are you kidding me?! All that work and I’m not dead?! What a rip off! I groaned but reluctantly obeyed. The room was bright, so I closed my eyes quickly. “Open those eyes, Kay. Don’t be so stubborn!” Bart ordered from my right. Why? Why can’t I die?! Why is this so much to ask for?

“I didn’t do this! I died and then I woke up in your body!” Her eyes widened, her anger faltering for a moment. “You died?” “Yes!” I cried. “I died! I don't know how, but one second I was” My voice cracked. “I just woke up here. I swear. I didn’t mean to” She didn’t look convinced. She took a slow step forward, her whole body trembling.

Chapter Sixteen Zara’s POV “Am I dead? Am I in heaven?!” I whispered to myself when I immediately I woke up with a startle. “No, you’re alive but you will soon be dead and will be in hell if you don’t take your heavy legs off my boner” a deep and sleepy male voice replies.

Zade When I wake, I feel like utter shit—not that it’s anything new. I always feel like this when I wake. Dragging myself out of bed, I stagger into the bathroom. A cold shower jolts me awake, not to clean myself, but to shock my mind into starting. It does little for the filth that clings to my soul, but at least it wakes me up. Afterward, I throw on some joggers and head to the gym.

Then all turned black. - I suddenly got up of the bed the moment I woke up. It’s like I ran a kilometer with the fast breathing I’m experiencing. What’s that? Did I just have a nightmare? But why does it feel realistic? I thought I died already. But wait, where am I?
