Your Cross To Bear Novels & Stories

I tell her, “I am fine” “You were in so much pain, malachi and I can’t bear to see you like that again. Just let me.. “I will use my own capabilities to find a cure, you do not have to harm yourself to save me and don’t you dare think about that. It’s my cross, I will carry it”

Cross looked at me and his expression did something complicated and for one second I saw genuine conflict move through his face, something real and human underneath everything Creek had made him into. Then he looked away. And stepped toward the door behind the female wolf. "Cross," I said. He stopped without turning around. "Whatever Creek has on you," I said. "Whatever he is holding over your head. It ends when he goes down. And he is going down." I kept my voice completely steady. "But if you walk out that door tonight you become the thing that helps him survive and everything you testified to, every truth you told, becomes something he uses to destroy you."

Xander's fangs extend, and Coal's eyes widen as he looks at Xander's fangs and red eyes. "You hurt my baby boy once. Do it again and I'll be the one killing you, and not with an injection like last time. I'll rip your heart out of your chest myself, right after I drink you until you're almost dry! It would be a shame to let that bear's blood go to waste!" "Hey!" Bear scolded as he pushed forward suddenly. Xander rolled his eyes and flicked his fingers at him, shooing Bear away. "I know, get out of here!"

Pain doesn’t matter, it never has. “Look at you,” Cross calls out, his tone almost reflective. “Still charging headfirst. You never learned.” “I learned exactly what you taught me,” I shout back. “I learned how to survive you.” I see him more clearly now. He’s moving backward toward the open door of his truck, his men closing ranks tighter around him. “Face me!” I demand. “For once in your miserable life, face me!” He doesn’t, but what did I expect. When did he ever do that?

I glanced around at the faces that had been prepared to watch me die minutes ago, Catherine's hatred, Linda's fury, Sara's false distress, Damian's rage, my father's belated concern. I nodded silently. Without another word, Cross turned and strode toward the pack house, carrying me as effortlessly as if I were made of air. The pack parted before him, no one daring to block his path. "Cross!" Alpha Gregory called out desperately. "We need to talk!" Cross paused, looking back over his shoulder. "I told you... I'm here to stay. To take my place." His eyes hardened. "But not on your terms. On mine." With that final declaration, he carried me across the clearing and toward the main pack house. Pa

Bruce called again. Kane, his hunter name, either the Cross gives it to you or you choose one, but that was his given one, purely over the fact that he conspired against many of the methods the Cross used, just as Abel's brother conspired in the Bible. "Let's go" he tried again "I know you can do this Mindy" She lifted a hand and drew hard, groaning through shut teeth, Danté saw in awe her lift, she was doing it!

Putting down the toolbox, I was about to get back in my car and leave. But then he chased after me, stepping in front of my car and blocking my path. He said urgently, "Claire, wait a moment. Let me finish changing the tire and drive you to the gathering. I'm worried about you going alone." I laughed coldly. I had known that he would be there too. "There's no need." But he had no intention of moving aside and kept looking down at me. I sighed and gestured for him to change the tire, indicating I wouldn't leave.

Dexter was in the middle of the bridge, and he motioned for me to cross. I shook my head and yelled, “You go ahead!” “The bridge is about to break if you don’t cross now!” “If it snapped midway, I’d die! Are you crazy!?” “I wouldn’t let you!” He assured me. I grunted and urged him to go, but he was stubborn as a mule. We stood there for seconds until.. five bears suddenly showed up with fury in their eyes. They’re here for revenge! I didn’t have time to contemplate, so even with the unstable bridge, I ran. I was almost in the middle when one of the bears stepped on the bridge.

"Glory, glory, Hallelujah! Glory, glory, praise the Lord!" They clapped in a rhythmic, driving beat, their voices rising to the ceiling in a crescendo of spiritual fervor. Hands were thrust into the air, bodies swayed. "Come and see what the Lord has done!" they sang, their eyes closed in ecstasy, a stark contrast to the sterile silence that had inhabited the room moments before.

People clearly had different kinds of life problems, but the only resolution was to keep on going. Sniffling once and then a second time, Ceanna took a deep breath. “Get a grip Cece.”
