I made my way back home, well the home I could afford right now. It was a studio apartment but that was putting it nicely. I had to sell so much stuff that the room consisted of a few clothes, a futon that I slept on, a small countertop, I had bought one of those plugins one hob things most people use for camping, a microwave, there was a rail for my clothes and a loo next to the hob. If I did star jumps, I could reach both walls with my fingertips it was that small.

Kiara’s POV The first thing that flashed in my mind when my eyes opened was that this wasn’t home. I was in a thin, narrow bed that was just enough to fit me. It was dim, the room so small and stuffy that I felt immediately claustrophobic. My head was banging like crazy and it worsened when I tried to sit up. My mind was a bit foggy but I was conscious enough to know I was in a strange place and probably in some sort of danger. I did my best to clear the cobwebs from my head and blinked at the simple, cluttered room I was in.

It had wires connected to speakers and a DVD. Toys scattered around the living space and it carried a homely feel with plants and books laying about. There was a kitchen to the left and three sturdy looking doors to the right. Seems like the tenants get to share the living room and kitchen, that's cute. “Sorry about the mess. My 3 year old, Lily, likes to play about” Celine ushered us in, and went ahead to pick up and arrange the toys in a small basket next to the door labeled “A”.

Now I work from home, but I can't spend hours in front of a laptop, someone else needs me. My apartment, which I have redecorated with the help of Grace and Mom, fits my needs. It's all my little one and I need, by the way, it's time to give him his food. He sleeps a lot, and he's only a month old. I head to his room. It is small, but enough for a crib, toys, closet and more to fit without problem. The shift from her big space to her little space wasn't so tremendous, and it seemed that she was aware of where she was and who she was with, even why they were here. The change from her spaces wasn't as drastic as he thought it would be when she comes back from big space, and it made him grateful. Sudden changes are exhausting for littles, as well as the changes and people in their environment. With wide eyes and a smile, he knew that Madie was back in her little space full of rainbows. It made sense then why she seemed so exhausted after a day of being in her big space, the sudden drowsiness that hit her after her swimming session.

On the right front corner of the room, was a smaller table holding a printer. Cara closed the door and imagined how it would be when she worked in such a small space. Looking around the room, Cara nodded her head silently. The space was cozy enough, but it needed more. Pulling out her phone, Cara made note on what she planned to buy at the mall to liven up her little space. As I looked around, I noticed the closet space, the dresser drawers, and the small desk in the corner, trying to get a sense of how we would coexist in this small space. It wasn't as big as my previous room, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I had been bracing myself for something much smaller and more Spartan, so this room felt like a compromise. The space was cozy, and the decorations added a touch of warmth, making it feel somewhat welcoming. I began to unpack my belongings, trying to make the space feel more like my own.
