Intruder
Jeffery says, shoving a thermometer and stethoscope into her hands like he's desperate to do something.
"I'm fine," I snap, even though I'm not.
When Liam shifts like he's about to shut me up again, Rose presses a hand against his arm, her touch calm but firm.
Let him speak.
Jeffery nods once. "Go on."
I breathe in, steadying myself.
"During the fight, I took off my seatbelt. I don't know why. Stupid. Angry. Then she—"

"She hit the gas."
