He was testing me again. I let out a cold laugh. “Officer Cole, are you saying I’m lying again?” “I’m just stating the facts.” He turned the floor plan toward me. “Take another look. The killer destroyed a total of thirteen cameras. “Three of them were installed just last week—even the owner couldn’t keep track of where they all were. But the killer didn’t miss a single one.” His words confirmed my suspicion. I looked at him, suddenly finding something about him strange. Unlike Daniel, who seemed eager to pin everything on me, Marcus was guiding me, step by step, toward the cracks in the case.

" My head shot up as my eyes locked on Alex, bloodshot and wild. My voice was raw as I barked furiously, "And when they were done, when they finally realized what they did, they panicked. Those cowards—those killers! They smashed Sharon's face in with rocks! "Then they dumped her like trash… off the steepest cliff in Deadman's Hollow!"

The muscles in his neck flexed as though he was holding back something sharper. “She says she was reborn,” he said finally, low and hard. “That’s not an explanation. That’s a story. We don’t know who she is. We don’t know what she is. And I won’t risk you because you feel sorry for her.” “I don’t feel sorry for her,” Zara shot back. “I believe her.” “She melted steel with her bare hands,” he said, each word clipped. “She survived what should’ve killed her. That doesn’t make her harmless. That makes her dangerous.”

They couldn’t possibly be suspecting us. “Convenient? What are you implying?” My brows furrowed deeply, anger and confusion swirling within me. “That you triplets had this planned,” the elder continued, gesturing with exaggerated motions. “Think about it: Our Luna and Beta are murdered on the day you and your mate arrive, and now our Alpha turns up dead shortly after going feral with grief. Care to explain how this happened?”

He really didn't look like a brutal murderer. Speaking of a brutal murderer, Alyssa was reminded of Justin's uncle, Zachary, who was also being imprisoned in Fifth Prison. Coincidentally, that man was also mentally ill and a murderer who had killed two women. Being the sharp-witted and quick-thinking woman she was, Alyssa always considered things more in-depth than others, especially when it came to coincidences like these. This was because she did not believe that there could be so many coincidences in the world. It was just like how she transformed into White Dove and stormed toward the battlefield in Luminara to fight alongside Jasper back then. Their survival had been a result of her pur

I needed quick answers from them. I needed to know how Mary winded up as the killer. My bet had always been on June. Or did they plan the whole thing together? Were they accomplices? "Why? Why did you kill her?" I demanded, wanting nothing but to get the answers to my million questions from her. She was silent. It increased my agony and I couldn't control the urge to flare up. "Luna Eleanor was a sweet woman. She didn't do anything wrong to you! She didn't even know you well enough to hurt you! How could you have done that to her? How?!"

On the how, I put all the ways the murderer sentenced each victims. “Now we only have empty where, who, and why. This is not about the victims but the killer. If we find out his or her motives through the victims then maybe we could determine who he or she is.” I encircled both the why and the who. “If only we could identify another pattern. We only have when as the pattern.” I underlined the word when on top of the page. “There’s no pattern in the victims. May be there is in the places?”

I tap my finger lightly on the keyboard as I read. “Jasmine?” He used my first name again. I shouldn’t love it so much. “I’m here, just trying to figure out what you mean.” “Every bug I’ve dropped he’s destroyed within minutes. This isn’t an ordinary target.” “Okay. I see he has a propensity to disappear without a trace. Questionable comings and goings. Possible murders in which the victims may have been shot at close range after death. “So, how were they actually killed?”

So maybe it's better that he is not here. “So, here’s the things we know about the killer. Firstly his targets are all renowned and prominent men in our country. Until now he has had three victims. Mr. Arik Watson- 48 years old. Estimated time of death 1st April 2020, 3.30 A.M. He was a prosecutor who won several awards for bringing justice to the people. Dr. Robert Jonson- 54 years old. Estimated time of death 12th July 2020, 3.50 A.M. He was one of the best general surgeons in our country. Mr. James Brown -50 years old. Estimated time of death 23th January 2021, 3.45 A.M. She had slammed right into the innocent victim. Zachary saw the footage too. Just before Gigi was arrested by the police, Zachary rushed to Gigi's house in a frenzy and stabbed her. It felt like he had looked up the most effective way to kill someone. As soon as he stabbed her, blood gushed out of her. Gigi crumpled to the floor, her eyes wide with shock. She died before the ambulance even got there. The police were alerted and came right over to arrest Zachary. Looking into the camera of a surrounding spectator who was recording on his phone, he tearfully cried out, "I've avenged you, Mom!"
