The feelings caused by us being too far apart go away, and of course that’s nice, but mainly I’m relieved not to be the only one in the line of fire for the ice queen at full power in her own domain. Quinn was stunned by this and stared in disbelief. “H-How did you meet Zayne?” At Quinn’s question, Zoey froze mid-sob. “You knew.” “Huh?” “You knew, Auntie! You knew Mommy was here! You knew they were together! You knew I have a twin!” Quinn couldn’t respond to Zoey’s words, making the child cry even harder. “Y-You’re all liars!” Zoey covered her face, causing Quinn to bow her head and let the child cry. But she was startled when, moments later, she heard the child struggling to breathe.

Quentin laughed arrogantly. "Help! Someone help me!" Zoey was all alone and had no way to escape other than calling for help. "Quickly give her the drug. Hottie, save some strength for later when we have fun on the bed." Quentin was already getting excited. One of his men took out a small bottle of liquid and came over to Zoey, intending to force her to drink it. Zoey was trembling with fear. She couldn't move her limbs, and she couldn't resist.

Her posture screamed Luna. “Why don’t you let your woman participate, Alpha Logan?” Zain’s voice echoed. “Or are you scared of a little game in archery?” Logan’s tone hardened. “Cut it. I said I’m not participating this year.” He paused, a hint of a smirk on his lips. “Don’t tell me you want your ass defeated again, Zain.” Zain stepped closer, grinning. “C’mon, Man. You think you still got it in you?”

“I don’t think I want to have anything to do with anyone in this town.” Mason looked taken aback. Logan is a dangerous man who knows his power. He managed to manipulate me into a contract marriage and even admitted he was dangerous. If he can do all that, what else is he capable of? It’s unsettling to think about how much control he has. If he can manipulate me so easily, there’s no telling what other ways he might use his power. “Hey, wait up. Is this about your past you’re not so proud of?” I stopped in my tracks, closed my eyes, held my breath, and shook my head, wondering what else Zoey had told these men. I turned to face Mason.
