[Juliet's POV] The music at the celebration party continued. Surrounded by a crowd, Alison basked in the crowd's repetitive praises. Suddenly, a deafening boom came from the city walls. Overlapping growls and roars of zombies tore through the atmosphere. Terror erupted instantaneously. People in the crowd screamed, "It's a swarm of zombies! A massive swarm of zombies!" A guard ran over, staggering along the way. "The lightning barrier on the right of the base has been breached. There's a massive gap. Zombies are coming through soon!"

I swallowed hard to let the words sink. “We are not just losing our positions. We could lose everything.” The silence in the room became heavy. I looked toward the darkness outside the window. “We have to stop her. Whatever she is planning we have to make sure we stop her before whatever powers she has wakes up.” “I am confused,” he said, staring at me in confusion. “What are you saying?” “Her research will lead her to find a cure for her being shiftless . When she does, the pack would be changed. We might even lose everything. We have to make sure she doesn’t wake her powers up.”

One of the men said to my uncle. Yes. You heard right.
