The man froze. His face was hidden in shadow, so I could not make out his expression. However, I could see that his bright eyes were staring straight at me, as if trying to study my face. Theodore Jensen knew his reputation preceded him. Violent, ruthless, unpredictable, a man who slaughtered without batting an eye... Naturally, all of it was true. I walk backwards to kill the lights, eyes never leaving the window. I shut the window, all but a few inch crack so I can kneel in the floor to watch and listen. I could swallow my heart when I see something move below me. A light shadow. As typical with the morning, the sun is starting to rise and it's still slightly dark out, but things are clearly visible. From my perch here, I watch a man approach, and though his face is covered, I can tell by his size and gait it is Trevor. He watches as the girl fights with my car, and I fear what he's going to do to her if he reaches her. I can't budge my eyes, I'm terrified.
