Ava walked through the dark alley leading to the Park’s leader Chambers, anger reverberating as she carried her steps blindly into the very place she had walked out of a few minutes ago.
“Logan!” She called, her words echoing around the house, causing the guards to run downstairs, ready to bound her away for being utterly disrespectful. “Let me go, let me go this minute, you piece of shit!”
“Keep your mouth shut or you will leave here with no tongue, Slave,” a guard ordered Ava, angrily pushing them away with so much strength that they all fell and marvelled at how strong the tiny lady was.
“Get me that son of a murderer this minute, or you will be the ones with no tongues,” she yelled, her eyes flared in anger as unimaginable heat emitted from her.
“How dare you?” the guards screeched. “Get that lowly slave now and take her to the dungeon until the Alpha Prince decides what to do with her!” He ordered the other guards who rushed towards her, binding her up while she struggled to break free.
“Let her be,” the coldness in Logan's voice made them all freeze while bowing as he descended the stairs. He shot her a stare that she couldn't understand. “Come with me, Anna.”
She stared at him with utter disdain. “There's no way I'm going anywhere with you. There's no way I'm going with you, murderer!”
He furrowed, amusement held in his eyes at her changed demeanor. Whatever happened to her while she left his chambers is definitely not a good thing. “Murderer?”
“Where's your manners, young woman?” the same guards who had ordered that she be taken away asked, almost hitting her across the face but was halted by the commanding voice of Logan.
“If you want to keep your head intact while leaving here, come with me.” He's not threatening her; it's evident in his voice. He's commanding it.
A smile of anger crept to her lips. “Why?” She asked, walking over to him, her fist clenched in anger. “You don't want your secret revealed in the presence of your dogs?”
“Those dogs will wreck your bone in a second at just the snap of my fingers,” he replied. “I hate to do this, but you're just so stubborn, like your parents!” He said and carried her upstairs to his study. Once inside, she angrily slapped him across the face.
“Just one question,” she sneered, gritting her teeth. “Your father, did he kill my parents?”
He narrowed his eyes back at her, totally unshaken by the blow from her. “Your parents alone aren't the only ones who died by the sword of my father, young woman.”
Ava's eyes flickered as she stumbled backward. Logan had been so nice to her. Why would he have been if his father had been the one who wiped out her entire pack?
“What?”
“Isn't that what you came here to find out? If my father had killed your people. I just answered.”
“You're a monster!” She screamed, her body vibrating from the intense shock that the man who was her mate happened to be the very person responsible for the death of her father.
“A monster is the one the Moon Goddess had deemed fit to mate you with, my dear,” he sneered, walking over to her and gently tracing his fingers on her chin.
“I'll never be mated to you!” She yelled, feeling her heart ripped into shreds as he watched her. “There's no way I'll let that happen.”
“Exactly what I intend to do,” he smiled, walking over to the door. “You are very much aware that I'm already betrothed,” he said, raising his hands up. “That's why I hadn't acknowledged the feeling since I knew the kid, you're just too lowly for me.”
“And you kept being nice to me?” She hated herself for asking that. She shouldn't be angry he doesn't want her; she should be angry he knew all along that her parents were killed by his ruthless father.
Logan stared at her. “Mate bound Kid,” he snuggled. “And I'll be ending that tonight.”
“What?” She asked, following him as he walked out of the Study. He turned towards the guards standing at the door. “Get the rest of the guards here.”
“What are you doing? You want to kill me just the way your father killed my parents?” She asked, cluelessly following closely behind him, back to the study.
“You could have kept quiet and lived quietly as a slave, but instead you acted impulsively,” he sneered.
He watched her vibrate from anger, her eyes steaming from hot tears, and he couldn't help his heart break at the view before him.
He loved her. He had from the very night he had rescued her under the moonlight. Strangely at such an age, he knew she was his, but in order to save and protect her from his father, he had to enslave her, and he will be doing more tonight. Logan gazed at her, a long lingering stare.
The guards came, bounded and ready for action while he faced her.
“You're to leave this Pack and never to return.” The dreaded words echoed around the room as she stared at him in shock. He's shutting her out even before she had the chance to avenge her parents murdered in cold blood by his Father.
“Logan?” She called, her eyes burning with hatred.
“I, Alpha Prince Logan, reject you, Slave Ava, as my Mate. I also command that you leave Moonwalker Pack with immediate effect!”
“Goodness!” She yelled, her eyes flaring. “You won't do that, you won't chase me out of here, not when I haven't pushed my sword into your heart and that of your father's!”
He twitched slightly at her cruel words. “I dare you to return when you're ready, and we will watch whose sword will end in the heart of the other afterward.” He turned towards the guards behind them. “Bound the slave and make sure she's nowhere near Moonwalker. If she causes any trouble, kill her,” he said, turning to walk away.
“No, not yet,” Ava sneered, taking a dagger from one of the guards and cutting herself with it. She ran towards him and cut his hands with the sword and forcefully marched her blood with his. A smirk cut across her face as the guards rushed towards her, dragging her away forcefully. One of them kicked her forcefully in the abdomen. She twitched and fell, her eyes not leaving him despite the pain.
“Let's see how your line will continue, Logan. If it's not me, you will never have children.”
He watched her, his gaze unfazed while the other guards quickly tended to his wounds.
“I'll be back, I promise!” She said and turned, silently following the guards as they led her out of the study.
“What?!” Collins abruptly got up from the bed, his head spinning. He had just received different shocks all at once and he was having a hard time processing it.“I said I’m leaving the pack.” Ava repeated the words, her hands tightening by her side. There was no longer a place for her here. She couldn’t bear to stay after she had broken Collins’ heart in such a way. She had to leave. She was sure he wouldn’t stop her if that was what she wanted. He might even be more willing to make her leave. Her throat tightened at that thought. She felt another onslaught of tears approaching. “I don’t understand. Why are you leaving?” He asked, unable to wrap his head around what she was saying.“Isn’t it obvious?” She let out a frustrated laugh. “I obviously don’t have a place here anymore.”Collins’ eyes narrowed at her words. He didn’t know what was going through her head but he was sure she felt he would throw her out. His chest clenched at that thought. The thought had never crossed his mind
“Congratulations Luna.”Ava stared at the woman, her whole body frozen at the woman’s words. She felt like time might have stopped completely as she remained seated on the bed. Congratulations? What was there to congratulate?“You’re about three months gone. The baby seems to be in good health so there’s nothing to worry about in that aspect. Just focus on eating healthy and making sure you exercise frequently.”If the woman was concerned by Ava’s silence she didn’t say anything. Her gaze remained fixed on the floor. She was pregnant. The midwife had confirmed it after the examination she had done on her. The only reason she decided to even do one was on Collins’ insistence when she wouldn’t stop throwing up and feeling feverish. So this was the outcome of it after all. Her head was whirring with different thoughts. Her hunch had been right. Something told her she was pregnant when she first felt that nausea but she pushed it away, desperate to convince herself that it was something e
“I don’t care how you get it done. Just do your job as efficiently as possible.”The man in front of Ava nodded his head, a solemn look on his face. He had his hands at his back as he listened to the orders she was giving. She was seated behind her desk while he stood before her as she gave commands.“Alejandro, you know how much trust I have in you.” She continued, fiddling with a pen in her hand.“Of course ma’am. I know how much trust you’ve placed in me and will do my best to make sure it’s well kept.” He said, bowing his head a little.“I need this operation to be as clean as possible. I’ve given you the semantics and everything you’d need to know about the location. Leave absolutely no traces. Understood?” “Yes Ma’am. You can leave this to us. My men will make sure the operation is successful and is a clean operation as you’ve specified. You can count on us for this job.”Ava nodded her head before dismissing Alejandro. Alejandro was the leader of an operative team that special
Please don't kill mePlease don’t kill mePlease don’t kill meAnd then her headless body falling to the ground like a weightless bag of sand. Logan immediately woke up abruptly, his body drenched in sweat. He put a hand over his face as he tried to steady his breathing. It had only been a dream, yet it had felt more real than anything. It was as if he had been transported to that exact moment, with the girl before him, pleading for dear life as tears streamed down her face. The exact moment when her head was cut off and her body fell to the ground seemed to continue echoing in his head, like a broken recorder forever stuck on one song.He ran a hand through his head in frustration. He had to get it together. He was heir to the Alpha position of this pack. He would be Alpha someday. He couldn’t afford to show any form of weakness whatsoever.“Give nothing. Take everything.” He echoes the words his father had said to him that day. It was what Moonwalker pack lived by.They showed no we
“Moonwalker pack?” Ava asked, wondering if she heard Shirley correctly.Shirley nodded her head, a grim expression on her face. Ava took in what she’d just said. Moonwalker pack was on the move. What could she possibly mean by that? Her network of spies hadn’t gotten any information to her yet.“Can you tell us about it?” Collins asked, breaking the silence.“Sure thing.” Shirley looked around before speaking again. “Come in first so we can talk more.”They immediately headed inside, following after Shirley. Ava ignored Collins who had inched closer to her as they made their way to Shirley’s room. Shirley shut the door as soon as they entered. Ava sat on the bed immediately, already feeling the exhaustion from their long journey.“Hit me. What’s going on with Moonwalker?” She asked, already itching to know what had gone down.“Well, we just recently received news that Moonwalker made an attack on one of their allies.”“They did what?” Collins looked a bit taken aback by the news.“Yes
Breathe.“I love you.” Collins whispered into Ava’s ears. “I love you too.” She replied, a way of solidifying that statement. Anything to remind herself that she did really love him.“You’re so beautiful.” Collins began to kiss from her cheeks down to her neck. She stared at the top of their tent, admiring the shade of gray. Why was she so focused on a bleeding tent when she should be focused on the man who was now slowly peeling the clothes off.As he continued to make love to her, she often found herself thinking about the strange man at the bar that day. The man who had taken her breathe away in more ways than one. He would forever be etched in her memory. There was no doubt about that. She held onto Collins when he finally came inside her. As they laid side by side, trying to catch their breaths, she began to wonder what exactly was wrong with her. Was it possible to have so much already and still feel empty? She’d grown a career and made a name for herself. Not to mention she wa
