Chapter 70 Please

Alaric’s POV

I stand on my balcony as my father bangs on the door. My knuckles have turned white from how hard I'm gripping the railing. Tears soak my face as I look out over the tree line toward Adrian's pack.

My father's knocking gets louder, and he's persistent as he presses on the link, trying to force it open. I've gotten better at keeping it closed. I held it closed with everything I have, but he forces it open for a moment every now and then. When he does, I ignore him and don't respond.

It's time, but I can't bring myself to go through with it. I don't want to! I want Adrian, and only Adrian! Every cell in my body begs me to jump over this railing and run home to him. My wolf is screaming at me to get us as far away from this place as possible.

I thought of all the different possibilities. I've considered grabbing Adrian and running away. If they can't find us, they can't hurt him… but that wouldn't protect everyone Adrian loves. Aldrich would burn that place to the ground

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 69 Alaric

Third Person's POVAlaric felt dead inside as he walked through the halls of his father's packhouse, which he now felt a connection to again. His link to Adrian's pack was severed the moment his father swore him into his pack again. It was the first piece of Adrian ripped away from the young Alpha. He didn't realize how much that would hurt, or how weak it would make him, and neither did his father. Alaric was surprised to see concern in his father's eyes when he dropped to the ground. Aldrich, on the other hand, was satisfied and walked out with a smug grin on his face. His father and Aldrich wasted no time severing his connection to Stonecrest Pack and re-establishing a connection to Nightmoon Pack. They did it the afternoon he came home. It felt like a punishment for how he reacted when Adrian showed up. It took five guards to restrain Alaric and keep him from going to Adrian when he heard him screaming his name. As if that wasn't painful enough, the connection to Adrian's pack

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 68 Adrian

Third Person's POV Alina shared a look with Arthur and giggled when he smirked. “So, lover boy! Where are we off to?”“WE are off to nowhere! I am going for a walk, you two are going somewhere else!” Sean said, and Arthur chuckled.“Ooh, feisty little thing! I like it,” Alina said, and Sean growled in frustration. Alina and Arthur shared a look, and her lips tugged up on the side. She skipped forward and hooked her arm with Sean's. “So, you like Nikolai, huh?” Alina asked, and Sean growled as he yanked his arm away.“That's none of your business!”“Calm down, I'm just making friendly chatter,” Alina said, and Sean rolled his eyes. Alina skipped forward and hooked her arms with Sean's again. He was ready to pull his arm away, but was shocked when the large Viking beast appeared on his right and hooked their arms together. The Beta was now sandwiched between the two. His mouth opened and closed. His head snapped to the left when Alina let go and skipped ahead. Sean slowly turned his

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 67 Can I tell everyone

Third Person's POV “Who are these people, and why did you bring them here?” Nikolai asked, folding his arms over his chest. Arthur didn't know what to say. He couldn't get over the image of seeing Nikolai in another man's arms. It stung. “I…I,” Art exhales, and his shoulder slumps. “It doesn't matter. I shouldn't have come,” Art said, and tried to turn, but his sister wouldn't let him. She grabbed his shoulders and forced him to face Nikolai before gently shoving him forward. “You're not leaving until you talk to him, and that's final!” Alina said, folding her arms over her chest. Nikolai took a step back to put distance between himself and Art. He feared he might crawl into his arms if he allowed him to stay that close. As Nikolai stepped back, he backed into Sean's chest. The Beta placed his hand on Nikolai's shoulder, and both Arthurs raised an eyebrow at him. Sean wasn't afraid of the Arthur in front of Nikolai, but he was afraid of the one standing next to the girl. He was

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 66

Third Person's POV His chest hurt unlike anything he had ever felt before. It feels like someone was ripping his heart from his chest. It was hard to keep the tears from falling as he stared down at his sleeping mate. His heart stutters, and he draws a shaky breath in before setting the letter on the nightstand beside him. His lips tremble against his Beta's forehead, and tears fall. “I'm sorry!” He whispered a shaky breath against his skin before stepping onto the balcony and leaping over the edge, disappearing into the night. ~His room lay in ruins. It looked like a tornado had hit his room. Everything lay in pieces around him as he sat on the floor, reading the letter over and over again as tears flowed. He's not sure what he's looking for. Maybe a hidden clue as to why his mate would suddenly do something like this. It doesn't make sense. He thought they were happy and madly in love. Why would he leave? How does he expect him to live without his other half? Adrian balls up th

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 65

Third Person's POV Adrian squirms, lightly laughing as Alaric sucks, nips, and kisses at the sensitive flesh of his stomach.Alaric looks into Adrian's beautiful eyes that sparkle with happiness, and his heart clenches. ‘How will I ever be able to do this?’ The Alpha wonders. His eyes close, and he tenderly kisses Adrian's stomach. “I love you more than anything in this world, my Beta,” Alaric whispered against Adrian's stomach. He kept his walls guarded as he trailed kisses up Adrian's body. He didn't stop until his face hovered above Adrian's. He let his eyes sweep over his Beta's face and burned every detail into his mind. “Kiss me, my Alpha,” Adrian said, taking Alaric's face into his hands.Alaric didn't waste another second and gave his Beta what he wanted. His lips pressed tenderly to his Beta's lips before tasting his kiss and slowly entering him. ~ § ~Nikolai's POV I'm annoyed that my father won't let me set foot on the training field yet. He wants to talk to me first,

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 64 Arthur

Arthur's POV I couldn't sleep. All I thought of was him. He was my every thought. Whenever I closed my eyes, I saw his handsome face and those beautiful blue eyes. My wolf was driving me insane. He wouldn't stop urging me to go to him. My wolf was urging me, and my own desires became too much, and I just had to see him... I just never anticipated what I would see when I got there. Those lips that were only meant for me pressed against another man's lips right before my eyes, and my heart shattered. My wolf disappeared instantly, but not before I felt how devastated he was. I couldn't move as I watched them kiss. It felt like a hot knife in my chest, and I couldn't swallow the lump in my throat; it was too large. My eyes stung, and tears overflowed. It's been a long time since I've cried. This perfect evening was ruined as I watched their foreheads rest against each other so lovingly. I slowly backed away before turning and running back home. As soon as I entered my territory, Ami

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 63 Emotional

Nikolai's POV I feel movement beside me as I wake up, but I'm still too tired to open my eyes. I become somewhat aware of my surroundings and feel the warmth of a body lying in my arms. I smell cinnamon, and my heart skips a beat. The warm body in my arms snuggles in closer, and I smile—my mind races, and I hum as I wrap my arms tighter around him and begin nuzzling him. My eyebrows knit together when I suddenly feel a vibration and hear a soft purr. I pull my head back, open my eyes, and nearly jump when I look into Milo's eyes instead of Art's like I expected.“Why do you smell like cinnamon?” I asked the Omega with wide eyes. He smiled and blushed, which only confused me further. “I ate a cinnamon roll a few minutes ago,” the Omega said, and that's when I noticed it. This little thing still had a bit of cinnamon and sugar on the corner of his mouth. No wonder that was all I smelled.I chuckled, pulled him into my arms, and kissed his head. “You're adorable,” I said, and he immedi

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 62 Exhausted

Arthur's POV My arm rests against the windowsill as I lean against it, staring outside and watching the rain. The weather was like my mood, dark and gloomy. My wolf pestors me, urging me to go to Nikolai, but I won't. I look up at the sky, and can barely remember what the sky above the Kingdom looked like. I looked down at the grass, remembering how many times the King's guard came close to catching me. I picture my father's face, and I sense my eyes glowing with a ring of gold. I don't force it away like I do when I'm outside of this room. This is my safe room. A spell seals this room and allows me to be who I am without fear of being sensed. I turn away from the window and look at the couch. The couch I've been sleeping on since the day I met Nikolai. I sigh, walk around my desk to the couch on the other side of the room, and drop down onto it. I lay my head back, and just as it touches the couch, my phone rings. I groan before pulling my phone out. As soon as I see the screen
