A Different Breed

Riele's POV

"Lily, it's almost time for class we need to head back to school" I yelled at Lily who paid no attention to me and more to the claw machine to in front of her. As she tried to win a cute pink pig with large blue eyes.

I gave her a light knock on her head which distracted her as the pig fell from the claw. I earned a frustrated look from Lily.

"We have class lets go" I said more sternly.

" What's with you and school Rie, at least live life a bit" she begged as she continued her attempt to win the pig

I snatched my car keys from her grip and walked out on her.

" Am leaving, I am not going to be late to school because of you again"

She ran after me holding the little bunny she won.

" Then whose gonna drive me home" she ran behind me and climbed into the car.

I gave her a smile of victory while she frowned at me. I turned on the stereo and listened to "All the way" by Megan Trainor.

I'm Riele Steele, 21 year old and in college. My mom is a fashion designer who owns a lot of shops in and out of Town, so she has little time for me.

Lily is my bestfriend who is sometimes clumsy but loves me a lot. Shes my only friend because all the other kids at school thinks am a spoilt brat who knows nothing about life but they are wrong because I experienced life when my dad passed away. I was 7 then and he died trying to recover Lilo, my puppy.

I and Lily were late for class but at least we weren't going to miss it at all. I walked into the class with my head low as Lily crawled behind me since Mrs. Scott was her mom's bestfriend and she didn't want to get in trouble.

Immediately I took my sit, Mrs Scott gave me a disappointed look

"Riele can u explain to the class why you arrived late" I wanted to tell her that I was only 7 minutes late but I knew I would get into more trouble and she may probably deduct from my class mark.

Every student turned their heads waiting for my reply.

Eventually I replied "Mrs Scott I had a little situation" glaring at Lily who stared at me with pleading eyes knowing it was all her fault

"An issue like......" Mrs Scott asked. 

"I went to the park Mrs Scott and arrived late due to traffic" I lied 

" You mean you left to the park with your boyfriend and decided that you can come to class whenever you want" 

" No Mrs Scott, you got it all wrong I was at the park with li....." Lily stared at me with pleading eyes because we both know that Mrs. Scott was her mom's bestfriend and she will most definitely be reported so I took the blame to save her. 

"With my boyfriend"

"I figured" she said looking more disappointed than before, at least she didn't have my mum's number and even if she did my mom was never available. She doesn't even have time to pick my own calls.

She continued her class and every student in the class could only look at me and said

"Who knew she had a boyfriend"

"I thought she was a goody too shoes"

" Maybe he's a nerd"

" Maybe he isn't that cute" I was annoyed by the constant voices coming from all the students in the class but I knew if I left the class Mrs Scott will never forgive me and nobody wanted to be on their teachers bad side.

Finally class was over.

"Pheew" I breathed out walking out first even before Mrs Scott finished her class I hurriedly went to the

Library to escape from Lily who was banned from the library because she couldn't shut her mouth

I sat there reading a book on how to communicate in Spanish. I learned simple words like "how are you", "good morning" and few other basic greeting.

Robert, an English boy who offered the same course as me walked up to me and sat right next to me, with a smile he placed he's glasses on the table and passed a note to me.

I opened the note and before I started reading it. He squirried off.

"Hi, Riele

Your smiles are so beautiful and you are like a shooting star, my shooting star. I'm deeply in love with you and just hope you will notice me. 

Your eyes shows the most sincerest of emotions and that's why I fell in love with you, please Riele reply back

I couldn't help but smile about his sweet confession of love to me. I placed the Spanish book back in the shelf and ran after him aksing different students if they had seen him but they hadn't seen him. I ran almost round school till I saw him hiding in the Janitor's closet

"Robert" I called softly and smiled a bit seeing how startled he was and then he hid he's face in both hands.

"You made me run round school searching for you, now am tired so I need ice cream"

He slowly lifted he's head with a cute smile showing his really cute dimples

"Okay, I'll get you ice cream" he said as we both walked outside school to search for ice cream luckily there was one right outside.

"So you have a crush on me" I said with a smile as we both started a conversation.

He talked about how he studied same course as me just so he could see me everyday. it sounded creepy but it was also kind of cute and i had no choice but to accept it.

We both exchanged numbers bought my ice cream and walked back to school because I needed to pick Lili up.
