Shannon’s POV

“Is there something you have been planning to start up?” Jules asked. “We heard about it in college.”

“Yes.” My voice was firm and wary. They had never been interested in anything I was doing before and they didn’t have to be interested now, they could always stand on their side.

“Can you tell us what it’s about? Maybe we can help you.” Ricky offered.

“Never mind, I’ll take care of it myself. You already have a lot to figure out already.” I smiled sweetly at him.

“Are you sure? We can make it a whole lot—“ Ricky offered once more but I cut him short, my voice a whole lot harder than I had expected it to be.

“I said I’ll take care of it, Ricky.”’ I replied, forcing myself to smile at him.
