Chapter 30: A Day with Them IV

They watched a family drama and Caleb felt envious every time there were scenes of the happy family being portrayed in the movie. The family looked happy though there were problems that they experienced. It was a family that grows closer the more they were in a bind.

He looked at his father and he saw an expected expression on his face. It was a bored expression as if he was not convinced with what was happening in the movie.

Their family… was not a normal family. They were both aware of that. Unlike many other families, they were only related by blood. Family members do not share affection towards each other, especially the siblings. His grandfather was not close to his father’s uncle. His father did not like his uncle as well.

He knew that having a sibling was not fun so he was relieved that he did not have any. At least his father had no plans of giving him a younger sibling so he did not have to be hostile to someone younger than him.
