“ Finally, I can give myself to him!” I whispered, excited at what I was about to do.

I finally clocked nineteen years last night and I could proudly show Anderson my true self. Since I was taken in by Alpha Kingston ten years ago, no one had actually seen my true self.

And I finally smelled my mate's scent after several months!

It wasn't just the excitement of smelling my mate's scent, but it was the blissful fact that my mate was none other than my boyfriend.

I wondered how Anderson was going to react. This decision would surely catch him off guard considering the disagreement we had about this just yesterday.

As I got close to his house, excitement surged through me.

The door was locked, which was odd since it was nearly midnight and he was usually home by now.

Luckily, I had my key. I quietly unlocked the door and made my way to his bedroom, eager to see the surprise on his face when he spotted me.

I had already taken off my clothes in the living room, and now I was clad only in my alluring lingerie. I walked sensually toward the bedroom.

I instantly felt aroused hearing that dripping sound. Did he see me already and was ready for me? Apart from Mira, the only person who knows of my decision is Lisa, my cousin.

With a giddy smile, I took another step towards the bedroom but froze instantly as my ears caught another familiar voice.

And so, I smiled groggily.

Biting hard on my lower lip, I pushed the slightly ajar door open, only to behold a sight that drained all my hope.

“ Anderson…!” I muttered painfully to myself. Then my eyes drifted to the naked person by his side.

Lisa.

A bitter chuckle escaped, my fist clenched as my eyes couldn't stop staring at the duo on the bed.

As my heart fought with itself, my ears could hear the drop of blood on the marble floor. I took two steps toward them as the urge to lurch toward them heightened.

At the last minute, I stopped.

My gaze fixed on the man I had loved for five years. “Anderson, you are a pathetic scumbag.”

The words came out without any coating. The only lacing was the dripping hatred mashed alongside.

“ Seriously, Elise? If you hadn’t pushed me away so many times, maybe I wouldn’t have found comfort in Lisa's arms. You need to accept that Lisa and I are together now!"

Scumbag. Those are always the excuses of scumbags.

“Honestly, I thought you’d at least apologise, but shifting the blame onto me for your choices is something I can’t accept! So, this is just all about sex for you, huh? You never really loved me?” I asked, tears streaming down my face.

He turned away, confirming my worst fears. Just as I was about to respond, he cut me off.

“Be with you? Why do you think I would want to be with you? You are a pathetic orphan my father picked up. Not a fucking smell of wolf around you and you expect to be a luna?" He sneered, his blazing red eyes boring through me.

My feet wobbled as my heart fought to keep steady. This was the same man who swore to protect me even if I didn't have a wolf!

" Pathetic human, you just got pitied upon by the Alpha and you already think you are one of us?" Lisa blurted out, smugly.

I bit hard on my lips, her words echoing through the sexually stuffed room.

" You are my mate, Anderson..."

He scoffed," Mate? Even if you got your wolf, I wouldn’t make you my Luna. I have found real love with Lisa even though you are my mate. She would be my chosen mate.”

My legs trembled at his last words. He knew I was his mate all along! Yet he still cheated.

“You-you knew I was your mate?” My voice cracked as the stinging sensation of his words strung in.

The silence and a piercing gaze of mockery answered me instead. Anderson took a step closer to me, his eyes cold and devoid of all emotions. My heart beat painfully.

My wolf howled inside, again. She already sensed his next words. I wouldn’t give him that fucking privilege!

My feet wobble.

“ I, Anderson Gomez, reject-"

I let out a deep-throated scream, masking my wolf's shattering growl as my insides battled with my inner weakness.

I breathe out, more to myself. " Anderson, I won't give you the satisfaction you want!"

" I, Elise Everton, reject you, Anderson Gomez as my mate!”

And just like that the hurtful twig of the rejection pierced through my heart. My legs wobbled again but I was determined not to give them the satisfaction of seeing me broken. With a proud look, I stared straight into those emerald eyes that got me crazily in love with him.

“ I accept your rejection!"

With that I turned around to leave, my head held high while my heart shattered into irreversible pieces!

“ Fuck you, Anderson!” I kept cursing as I left those cheating bastards.

I found myself in the city's bustling clubhouse and without a second thought, I headed straight to the bar hoping to dance and drown my sorrows in alcohol.

“ Such a cheat! I will tear him into pieces!”

I was on my second drink of the night, and surprisingly the effects were starting to hit me too soon. Could it be because of the heartbreak?

Drunk, yet the hurt didn't seem to leave.

I pulled myself up after the third shot of tequila that was a gift from the bartender, stumbling out of the club.

“ Hey, beauty!”

I raised my head to see four masked men who were clearly drunk as well. I had noticed them casting odd glances my way while I was inside. The one who spoke, walked towards me.

Although I was drunk, I nearly puked at the odour from their body. They were definitely rogue wolves.

“ Get out of my way, rogues!” I spat out, glaring at the approaching man.

I attempted to slip past them, but one of them kicked me in the stomach and knocked me to the ground. Before I knew it, two of them had me pinned down while one began to unbutton his pants.

How could I be so powerless? Was it because of the drink?

“ Boss, I think Justin gave her the spiked drink,” I heard one of them say.

The drink was spiked by these bastards. It must be wolfbane.

I managed to blurt out. “ Do you know who I am?”

The one who was referred to as a boss let out a dry chuckle. “ Yeah. A beauty with a hot body that would be screaming under us, soon…”

In that moment, I felt my life flash before my eyes. Were they really going to take advantage of me? I was truly unfortunate. Rejected by my mate and now my purity was about to be taken by these rogues.

“ Please-” I pleaded but it only brought out laughter from the rogues.

I prayed sincerely to the moon goddess to save me.

I was still trying to fight them off when powerful auras suddenly filled the dark air. I saw the rogue wolves cowering to the oppressive aura.

I looked up to see three handsome men appearing from the other side, transforming into large dark wolves in an instant. The wolves were different and extremely large. They lunged at the rogues, tearing them into shreds.

I shivered at their strength. These were no ordinary wolves.

When they shifted back, I could only gulp at their beauty. Especially the one with the most dangerous aura.

They approached me, their eyes glued to mine. Then I heard something from the three that made me curse silently.

“ Mine!”

Great! Now even the alcohol was messing with my head!
