CHAPTER TWO

“Are you okay, Cyra? The master did not look happy.” Helen asked with concern on her face. Jacob was however checking my body for any injuries, from the distance

“Didn't you say you would only go to the beach? Why did you get attacked?” Said Bosvana

“The Lord says not to worry. For precaution, do not leave the mansion unless you get orders.”

Bosvana sighed. “I'm glad you're alive.”

“It's fine.” I dismissed, “He wasn't strong enough to hurt me.”

“Right.” Jacob intervened, “You are a vampire as well.”

“I think it's about time I learnt some self defense skills.”

“Really? What about the ones I taught you a few years ago. You said you'd try the techniques on the Lord and how did that turn out?”

My cheeks instantly went hot.

“I underestimated the Lord's strength but the vampire I bumped into today was less. You could even take him down, Jacob. All Maximilian did was appear and the vampire could not move or speak. Then guess what happened?”

“He snapped into two.” Helen and Bosvana chorused.

“No.” I said, “I heard a crack and he fell onto the ground.”

Jacob sighed, “He snapped into two.”

“That's not exactly what happened—”

“—Excuse me.” A squeaky voice cut in along with a loud creak from across the room.

By the door was a petite woman in a purple dress. She had black short pixie and an adorable face.

Kinda like puffy..

“I don't mean to interrupt, however the master asked of you, miss Cyra.”

My eyes widened, “Damn! I haven't even made lunch yet. What to do, what to do?”

“You haven't even had breakfast yet. Worry about yourself first.” Jacob said before grabbing a piece of cucumber and shoving it into my mouth, “You don't eat human meat like the rest of us but skipping meals will only arouse your hunger and you don't want that to happen, do you?”

I shook my head and shoved more cucumber into my mouth and started arranging the fresh fruits in a tray.

I could offer that to Maximilian and stall for more time.

“Thank you lads.” I said and Jacob winked at me as I walked out the door with the short haired leading the way upstairs.

“You don't have to go with me babe I know the route..” I said.

“You serve master, I know but I worry for your safety. I often hear you cry out loud at night.”

I stared down at my feet embarrassedly. How could I tell her it wasn't a cry of hurt but of pain and pleasure?

“You going with me will only get me in trouble so please..”

“I insist.”

“He's going hunting tonight so I guess I'll be safe so please let me find you instead.”

The pixie nodded, “Okay. Good luck.”

“What's your name?” I asked.

“Daya.”

I couldn't help but smile, “What a cute name. It suits you quite well.”

“Uh..”

“For you, I'll try to eat breakfast downstairs tommorow morning.”

“Oh?”

“You must be new here.”

“Actually no. I've been here for a while but I never get the chance to speak to you because it seems you're always engaged but I understand.. it's not easy for you.”
