ALPHA’s SWEET FIRE

~ TAHLIA ~

“Nothing but a disaster… bad news! I will break those wings of yours!……” her father barked out at her as usual, his eyes popping out like they would drop out from the socket any moment, Tahlia would have laughed if not for the pain she was in, he said something after that, but Tahlia chose to ignore them.

After all, they were the same old diminishing and brutal hateful words from her father, it’s like his medicinal dose every day and he cannot do without lashing out his anger and frustration at her.

Sometimes she feels that he uses her to test his punching and fighting abilities, he just uses her as his training sack…

“Ahaaaaaa! Aaaaaa!” Tahlia groaned out in pain, trying to keep her voice very low and muffled but the pain was too much, she tried to look up to see her surroundings.

But the blood dripping and the wound on her head did not let her, her father had just whipped her there again, she heard her brother squirm in pain and discomfort from where he stood by the window and her heart went out to him immediately.

Quillion is her elder brother; older than her by two years but more emotional and sensitive, he’s the only one that cares genuinely for her in the family.

Quincy, fast approaching footstep, invaded Tahlia’s thought of her brother, “ the witch” Tahlia thought sadly to herself, who would think an older sister that is supposed to protect and love can be so wicked and unbothered?

“Father!, This is the water you sent me to bring, I made sure it’s very hot” her high-pitched voice filled the blood-stained room. Tahlia rolled her eyes but dared not to let her father see, it won’t be any good to prolong her pain, she was already in so much pain and had been tied down in a kneeling position with her hands tied to her back for the past six hours.

Now that it’s almost over, she wouldn’t want to ruin it.

Alpha wren Bryony; Tahlia’s father and biggest tormentor collected the big bowl of hot water and smiled wickedly at his precious daughter, the only daughter he acknowledged and loved.

Quincy chuckled happily and quickly stepped away to stay out of the hot water's reach.

Tahlia braced herself for the hardest and ending part of the torture, it happens like this almost every time, it’s like a ballet dancer routine.

She already knows all his torture techniques, sometimes he will finish his attack with hot water or starve her overnight, but she would always go for the hot water anyway.. not that he asked for her opinion, after all, she has this special healing ability, one of the reasons her sister is jealous of her.

But the pain didn’t come, she managed to look up and saw her brother struggling with their father, there was pain visible on his face.

The scene around her is also not new to Tahlia, she smiled weakly at her brother before bowing her head back in pain, she couldn’t her head up for too long until the pain had subdued.

The bowl hit the floor with a loud thud, causing her father to swear loudly, but he dare not hit his precious son, he hissed angrily and walked away with Quincy following closely at his heels.

Quillion ran toward his sister to help her up, and as usual, he saved her from more pain, sometimes it happens like this, whenever he’s around, and although he couldn’t save her every day, most times she would have suffered halfway.

Quillion doesn’t like to see her hurt, he says she looks so much like their mother and reminds him of her, only Quillion has a vivid memory of their mother, Quincy was still very little when she died.

Tahlia doesn’t know what a mother’s love felt like or what her mother looked like; her mother died during her birth and that’s one of the main reasons for her father's hatred towards her.

“I…. I… should just die Quillion, I…” crying out loud, now that her tormentors were gone; she only allows herself to be weak in front of Quillion and grinda; her best friend. He hushed her before she could continue with her suicidal wish, wrapping her to his chest.

“Just save your strength and allow this wound to heal my princess” he consoled her, trying to keep his tears and emotions hidden, she sensed that he was sniffing back his tears and she quickly hugged him.

At the end of every torture like this, they always end up consoling each other, Tahlia always feels better knowing that, someone shares her pain with her, at least she can live with that.

They stayed there together until her wounds healed up.
