Everything is going to be fine..!

Currently, I am in my apartment pacing around telling myself that just because I came across Dev today doesn't mean my life will get messed up again.

"Didi..!" I heard Lisa's voice from the living room.

Lisa, she is my sister, not a real one though. But she has no one except for me. She is alot younger as she turned 16 just a month ago.

"Anu di, you know today our results were announced and guess what?" She asked looking at me expectantly.

"Ofcourse you passed with flying colours." I said pulling her cheeks with a smile.

She's my reason to live!

"Yeah! So now I want my treat. I want to eat howmuch ever junk food I want for today." She said very stubbornly.

And I just laughed at her childishness.

"You can eat whatever you want today. You have my card right?" I said to her.

"Yeah.But are you not home for dinner? I wanted to celebrate with you." She said pouting.

"Celebrate with your friends. I have to attend a dinner today. It's really important." I said to her with a smile.

Karan called me saying he & Rhea wants me to have dinner with them today to talk about a few things.

"Okay fine. But don't stay late." She said pointing her index finger at me while narrowing her eyes.

"Okay mom." I said with a mock salute and went to fetch my sling bag so that I could leave for dinner.

I reached the diner and spotted Rhea sitting with Karan. I walked towards them with a smile and we hugged each other one by one.

"Anu, it's soo good to see you again." Karan said still holding me by my shoulder.

I just gave him a wide smile and said

"I am sorry for whatever happened, but trust me It was for everyone's good."

"Anushka, you could've let us take the decision of what was good for us & what was not." Rhea said sighing.

"Let's not talk about it, please." I said pleading her with my eyes.

This topic makes me a lot uncomfortable then it should!

"On one condition." Karan said while we all took our seats.

I just raised my brows at him and he continued

"Don't give up my wedding planning." He said shrugging sipping on his wine.

"Karan!" I whined.

"What? No whining. We really want you to do it. Did you forget? When you got married to Bhai we would discuss how you will be the one planning my wedding?" She said looking at me with tears in her eyes.

I sighed closing my eyes.

I'm stronger than this..!

"Is it about Dev Bhai?" She asked and I just nodded in negative.

"It's about your mother, Babe." Karan said looking straight in my eyes.

A living nightmare, for me!

"What? Mom? What does she has to do with this?" Rhea asked confused and I just  looked at Karan with wide eyes to not mention anything to her.

Yeah! Because he was the only one who actually knew what was I going through when I got married to Dev.

Everyone else was too busy in their own world to actually notice the pain behind my smile.

"Anushka, did mom not behave well with you?" Rhea asked with widened eyes.

She was worse..!

I wanted to say but refrained myself.

"It is nothing like that, Rhea. It's just that I ranaway & I can't face your family. I am not capable of doing it." I said in a defeated tone.

More like, I don't want to.

"Can you not do this for us?" Karan said squeezing my hand while looking at me with hope.

How can I refuse him?

"I'll personally make sure you are never uncomfortable while working with us. Then too, if you feel like you can't you can just give us a replacement." Rhea said now looking at me with hope.

Taking a deep breath I closed my eyes and said

"Okay, I'll do it."

I hope I am entering the right territory!

"Yayyyiiee! I knew you would never refuse my puppy face." Rhea said squealing.

"Ohh please, she gave in because I requested her." Karan said rolling his eyes and just like that they started bickering.

I just chuckled looking at them and remembered our moments.

Flashback

"Dev, how many times do I tell you to not enter my kitchen!" I said glaring at Dev.

He was cooking breakfast because I slept in a little late and Mom was not home.

"It is our kitchen, my lady." He said winking at me with a smile.

This cheeky asshole!

"Don't sweet talk to me now. You always create a mess in the kitchen and then leave it like that only." I said narrowing my eyes at him.

"Then you should have woke up early." He said shrugging.

"Ohh & whose fault is that?" I said narrowing ny eyes and started arranging the things in order.

"You switched off my alarm so that I don't get up early and you get to enter the kitchen." I said glaring at him and he just rubbed his neck nervously.

He switched off the stove and came towards me. He trapped me between the counter & him.

"Dev! What are you doing?" I said trying to move away but there was no space to escape.

"I just wanted to make breakfast for you, for once. Is it too much to ask for?" He said rubbing his nose with me and I just smiled at him.

"And stop trying to always escape from me." He said coming too close to me.

I'll lose my sanity..!

"Who can win when you are this sweet?" I said laughing.

"Now get away and carry on with your work. I am hungry and Yess Mr. Khurrana you'll be cleaning up the mess that you've created." I said fake glaring at him while hiding my smile.

"As you say Mrs. Khurrana." He whispered and walked towards the stove not before throwing a wink at my way.

Flashback Ends

"Anu, where were you lost?" Karan asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Ohh it's nothing." I said waving it off.

"How are your parents?" Rhea asked with a smile and I stiffened at the mention of them.

"Umm.. I don't really get to talk to them. They don't answer my calls neither do they want to meet me." I said with my head hung low.

"I am sure, everything will be fine." She ensured me and I gave a tight lipped smile.

That is never going to happen!

"I thought even you guyyss would not want to do anything with me." I said with a dry chuckle.

"Ohh come on! You really thought that I would do it with the only sister I have?" Karan asked smiling and and I just chuckled.

"We never judged you because we never knew your side of the story. We know there is alot behind you running away like that but I think it is better if we focus on today and not the past." Rhea said with a smile.

I gave her a genuine smile and said

"Thank you soo much."
