My eyes flash as intense anger rips through me. How could Reece let another woman touch him like that? Is there something going on between them?

“Excuse you, Rose. Which man are you talking about? Don’t tell me it's Reece. He hasn’t met his mate yet,” Amber taunts, folding her arms across her chest and I feel like closing the gap between us to rip her throat out.

Her voice irks me. Her whole presence gets on my nerves and yet, I’ve only been in the same space as her for a few hours.

A low growl leaves my lips and I’m about to reply when I suddenly come back to my senses. I meet Reece’s eyes and his confused expression makes my stomach knot.

What the hell am I doing? What right do I have to act like a jealous mate?

With a pounding heart, I turn and dash out of there like it’s the plague, feeling mortified.
