Elowen's POV
"I'm Liam's mate!" Merlin's voice rang in my head for the thousandth time and I shook in fury, unable to control my anger. I hated this new feeling that raked through my heart but I couldn't help it. My fury rose like waves, threatening to swallow me whole. I shouldn't feel this way! "Ok, Elowen, you've got this," I told myself, trying to calm myself. "Take a deep breath, and let it go," I closed my eyes, whispering the words to myself while Hayley stood aside, watching me with a worried look on her face. I kept taking deep breaths, trying to calm my raging nerves but it did nothing to calm me down. If for anything, it only made me more furious. "Luna, you're doing it wrong," Hayley said, her voice breaking through my concentration. I opened my eyes, frowning as I faced her. "What else should I do? I feel like I'm going to explode if I don't get this raging feeling off my chest," I gritted my teeth in anger and she smiled, her eyes still fixated on me. "What's so funny?" I glared at her, furious and irritated at the same time. "You're a newly turned vampire. Your emotions are overwhelming you," she said calmly. "What do you mean I'm a new turned vampire? I've always been a vampire right from when I was a baby." "Your vampire side was dormant. You were more of a werewolf than a vampire. I guess you died which is how your vampire side was awoken," she explained and I frowned. She was right, Raven did kill me and force me to feed on my father. A growl escaped my lips as I thought about it. I can't control my feelings and the thought of everything fucking made me furious and explosive. I'm like a time bomb waiting to go off. I suddenly paused, recalling something she just said. "Did you just say I was more of a werewolf than a vampire?" I asked, gaping at her and she nodded positively. My eyes widened in horror and I staggered back. "You know I'm a hybrid? But I didn't say anything," I garbled, unable to accept the fact that my secret was already out. They'll treat me the same way Caden and the others did now that they know. They might even try to kill me for being a monster. "Luna, calm down," she covered the gap between us, placing her hand on my shoulders. Touching me, a strange calmness washed over me, one I couldn't explain. It was weird. "The moment the Alpha brought you in, every vampire in this house could tell that you were a hybrid. You have this awful smell the wolves have and yet we can tell that you're still one of us," she explained to me. "How?" I whispered, still surprised. "Our nose," she tapped her nose, smiling. "We have a strong sense of smell and so do you." She turned away from me, grabbing a blood bag from the fridge and my nose reacted fast, recognizing the smell of blood. "Wolves have a strong sense of smell and enhanced hearing but vampires' senses are more enhanced than wolves. We pickup scents two times stronger than they do, and we hear things far more clearly no matter the distance." Unable to control the hunger anymore, I snatched the blood bag from her, draining it empty. My hunger wasn't totally quenched but that felt oddly satisfying. It felt like my body jerked awake. "How did that feel, Luna?" Hayley asked, smiling, and I faced her, my face morphing into a smile to mirror hers. "It was exhilarating." In place of the fury I felt initially, I felt happy. Every fiber of my body danced with excitement. This feeling only made me crave for more blood. I turned to the fridge, ready to grab another blood bag but Hayley got in front of me, stopping me. "One step at a time Luna. You'll get intoxicated and lose control if you allow your hunger to control you." I gulped, my hungry gaze on the fridge as I craved for more blood. "Liam," my ears suddenly perked up, hearing someone moan Liam's name. It was Merlin. "Where are you Liam? I'm dripping wet right now on your bed," Merlin moaned, making my eyes darken in fury. I could smell her arousal from right where I stood. "Luna, you should block your senses for the meantime," Hayley advised, noticing my sudden change in emotions. It wasn't as easy as she made it sound. No matter how hard I tried, I still heard her moaning Liam's name as she satisfied herself while on a phone call with him. "You know the cucumber can't satisfy me as well as you do?" She said, her voice dripping sultriness. I shook my head, trying to shake her out of my head. She is doing this intentionally. She is only trying to make me upset and I'm letting her win. Liam is hers and I have no right to drag him with her. After all, I'm not staying for long. Once I'm strong enough, I'll take the next exit out and focus on my goal of revenge. A monster like me didn't deserve love. "You shouldn't write yourself off like that Luna. I'm sure the Alpha Twins' love you and they'll kill to keep you in their lives forever," Hayley said, trying to lift my spirit. "Did you just read my mind?" I frowned and she chuckled nervously, looking away. "Your thoughts were actually loud and I couldn't help but hear them," she replied, reminding me of just how freakish vampires were. "It doesn't matter if they'll kill to keep me in their lives Hayley. I'll just be a burden and that's the last thing I want to be. The only thing I live for is to make everyone that made me suffer, suffer two times stronger than I did after which I'll end this miserable life of mine." "Luna," Hayley gasped, looking horrified. "Seeing your face in my man's house was repulsive but hearing you say this, knowing your place is appalling," Merlin smirked, showing up out of nowhere. "Where did you come from?" Hayley frowned, not looking happy to see her. "Watch your tone with me, Hayley. You won't love to have to lose your tongue, will you?" Merlin threatened and that humbled Hayley, making her go silent. I watched Merlin, my face devoid of emotions. She's beautiful and I wouldn't blame Liam if he wanted her instead of me. She had catlike eyes, a seducing body and curves enough to make any man a slave to her body. "I'm thirsty, grab a blood bag for me, Elizabeth," Merlin ordered, making me confused. "My name is Elo—" "No one cares about your name, freak," she cut me short immediately, and I clenched my fist, anger coursing through my veins. "Don't worry, Luna, I'll get it for her." "No, you won't," Merlin replied, not smiling. "I asked Elizabeth to do it, not you." "But she—" I shook my head at Hayley, telling her to give it up. It was of no use to get Merlin angry. I can't risk provoking Liam and putting Hayley at risk. She seemed like a nice girl and I won't want her to get in trouble because of me. I grabbed the blood bag from the fridge, handed it to her and she smiled, taking it but then she suddenly dropped it, letting it burst. "Oops, I forgot I don't drink from blood bags , clean it up Elizabeth," she ordered me and I gawked at the blood on the floor, feeling drawn to it. I wanted to go on my knees and lick every last drop of blood on the floor. I was slowly going on my knees before Hayley got in front of me with a napkin, stopping me. "I'll clean it, Luna." She immediately got to work, wiping the floor clean and it made Merlin furious. "Stupid bitch," she kicked her in the face, sending her flying. "Hayley," I immediately ran to her side, alarmed and Merlin slowly approached us, looking scary. "I told you to know your place. Were you deaf when I asked Elizabeth to clean it instead?" She made to hit her again but I stopped her attack, pushing her backwards, shocking her. "She is hurt so please just stop," I pleaded, hoping she'd stop but she only burst into laughter like a lunatic. "Fine, because you begged, I'll let her go, Elizabeth." "Her name is Elowen, not Elizabeth," Hayley corrected her, healing pretty fast and I gaped at her in surprise. This was the first time she was calling me by name but if she kept this up Merlin might really kill her for real and I won't be able to save her. "You just don't know when to shut up, do you?" Merlin glared at her, her eyes murderous. "I only listen to the Luna, Merlin," Hayley replied, boldly, not scared a bit. Merlin gritted her teeth in anger, her claws elongating. She was really going to kill Hayley. A car suddenly drove into the compound, making her pause, her anger vanishing, replaced with excitement before she zoomed out. "What just happened?" I asked, confused by her sudden change of emotions. It felt like she was bipolar. "The Alpha Twins' just came back, that's what happening," Hayley replied. "You should also go welcome them and show that bitch her place, Luna," Hayley grabbed my arm, dragging me out with her to go see my mates. The thought of that excited my wolf but it made me nervous and scared at the same time. "But Hayley, I can't—" the words froze in my mouth, my feet refusing to move at the sight before me. "Luna, we should return to your room," Hayley panicked, looking worried for me but I couldn't get myself to move. My eyes remained fixated on the sight before me, my heart aching badly even though it shouldn't care but…….. It hurts.Elowen's POV My stomach grumbles loudly, making me frown. I wrapped my hands around my stomach, looking around to be sure no one heard that. Luckily enough for me there were only a few people in class and they were occupied in their various conversations totally ignoring me. My stomach grumbled again reminding me of the fact that I needed to eat. I'm beginning to regret refusing to eat before leaving Liam's house. I probably won't be this hungry if I did. Even if I wanted to get something to eat now I didn't have any money to buy anything and I don't know anyone willing to talk to me or lend me some money. After Riley came back to life I might have snapped her neck again to be sure it was all real. Adrian had to take her away and keep her hidden for the meantime from Liam and Merlin until she came back to life again. So, I'm left with no one but myself and my grumbling stomach."Elowen," Merlin called, smiling gleefully and my mood turned sour by just seeing her face. I seriously w
Elowen's POV For a second I might have forgotten that my life now revolves around the Alpha brothers. Although, I might have taken the closest flight out of Liam's house but not out of his world which would explain why he was standing before us looking so hot yet dangerous. "Liam?" Merlin called, equally surprised to see him."What are you doing here?""I'm doing the questioning here, Merlin and I remember asking a question. Do I have to repeat myself?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows at us."I'm just surprised to see you in school after all this time. I thought you were—" the remaining words froze in her throat when she saw the scary look on Liam's face."Nothing serious is happening, Liam. I was just showing Elowen around the school and giving her a little welcome to our school," she replied, smiling tight-lipped."Right Elowen?" She placed her hands on her shoulders, smiling at me like a creep with her friends whil
Elowen's POV Whatever courage I had a few minutes ago to introduce myself to the entire class was now non-existent.I sat on an empty seat behind the class, wishing I could just become invisible. Maybe then I won't have to tolerate the hateful and curious look I was getting from everyone. The teacher went about her work, teaching us chemistry. I really didn't understand how any of this was to be of any use to me. Not only were there vampires and werewolves in the school, there were also humans mixed in amongst us.I was curious. Was it possible that they were oblivious to the vampires and werewolves surrounding them or are they aware of their presence but then chose to remain quiet? If it was the latter then they were stupid to think they would ever be safe around vampires plus they were clearly outnumbered."Miss Amelia will be upset if she finds out you're not taking any notes in her class," a girl seating beside me whispered
Elowen's POV I sat still in the Principal's office, looking around as I waited to be attended to. It's been almost an hour since I got here and still no one has bothered to attend to me. It's either they are not aware of my presence or they chose just not to pay me any heed. I'm thinking it's the latter because I met the secretary on my way in and she told me to wait in the Principal's office, he'll join me soon. I sighed in frustration, relaxing my back as I closed my eyes. It's my first day in school and I'm already this frustrated. Who knows what else lies ahead, waiting for me.Liam snuck into my thoughts and I couldn't help but frown. It's my first day of school and he didn't even bother to bid me goodbye, or wish me a nice day. He simply vanished from the house, no one having an idea of where to find him or an inkling of where he went."Not like I care anyways about him," I muttered under my breath. "Liar," my conscience sneered at me, making me frown. Even my conscience isn
Elowen's POVI glared at my reflection in the mirror, frowning. I looked strange in a school uniform. I never had to attend school when Caden was my mate. Raven, Caden and I had private tutors that taught us all we needed to know. I've always wanted to go to school with the other students and experience real school life but I never did. I should be happy to be getting my wish now but I didn't want it to be this way. I felt pathetic.I keep losing people around me and yet I'm expected to live like my life is not so messed up. Maybe I'm cursed never to have anyone stick too close. It's either they betray me or they die just like Hayley and my dad.I smiled sadly, knotting my tie. A tear slipped from my eyes as my mind went to my dad.I missed him. Since it was just us, I always knotted his tie and made sure he looked presentable. It still feels surreal but he's really gone. "Luna," someone called, startling me. I glanced back to see a maid, standing beside my packed bags. I wonder
Ethan's POV "Are you just going to keep standing there giving me that judging look?" I sighed, turning to face Adrian, my beta. After introducing Elowen as our mate and a new student of our school, he's been silent which is odd for someone as chatty as Adrian. "What else am I to do, Ethan? I'm flabbergasted by your actions. What were you thinking, introducing her to everyone like that?" Adrian asked, frowning and I shrugged, nonchalant. "The timing felt right and we both know it's not something we can hide forever. Sooner or later word will get out and either way everyone will still get to know about her." He gawked at me in disbelief, speechless. As dissatisfying as it must be to reveal Elowen to danger, it was quite satisfying to claim her as mine in the presence of everyone. The look on her face when I did made me smile. "Were you also serious about her joining the school?" Adrian asked, gaining his voi
