Chapter 5: My Birthday

I wake up at 5am like I do every morning and stretch. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I brush my hair and put it up in a high ponytail. I put deodorant on and than change into my short shorts and a tank top. I go downstairs to the kitchen and get a drink. 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Shouts my brother

Holy crap you scared me Eric. I tell him

I know that's the whole point. He says chuckling

I can't believe my baby sister is finally an adult. He says

I told you to stop calling me that. I tell him as I smack his arm

You'll always be my baby sister. He says with a smile on his face

Eric is my older brother. He's 20 and is in training to take over being Alpha of this pack. He stands about 6'2 and has shaggy brown hair with bright green eyes just like me. We get our bright green eyes from our mother while our father has piercing blue eyes. Eric and I have a lot of similarities but I don't think we look anything a like. Eric has an 8 pack while I just have a very toned flat stomach. I only stand 5'6 and I have long bright blonde hair. I look just like my mom and Eric looks just like my dad except for the green eyes of course. 

So are you excited? Eric asks

About what? Leaving the pack to be with a viscous Alpha or turning 18? I ask

Eric looks at me and than says I've met Alpha Jackson on more than one occasion and even though he has a bad reputation he's not that bad. He just doesn't put up with any crap and because of that no one wants to get on his bad side. That includes our parents. 

I take a deep breath and sigh. Okay I guess I'm just worrying for nothing. I say

You got that right. Eric says

When are you going to choose your mate? I ask Eric

I don't know. Dad says I need to focus on my Alpha training and once I become Alpha than I can choose a mate for myself. Eric says looking at me

Just than mom and dad walk in laughing. 

Good morning kids. Happy Birthday beautiful daughter of mine! Dad says

Alright are you two ready for the last birthday family run? Mom says

Yes. Both Eric and I answer at the same time. 

We go out back and undress behind different trees so we can't see each other. Once we're done we all shift and take off. Dad takes the lead with my mother beside him. Than Eric and I are next to each other right behind our parents. 

After what seemed like hours we ran back to the pack house and shifted back and got dressed. We went inside the pack house and went straight for the kitchen because all of us were hungry and we smelt breakfast. We sat down and waited for breakfast to be served. 

Good morning Maria. I say

Good morning birthday girl. I made you special birthday pancakes. Maria says as she puts the plate down in front of me

I eat my pancakes in silence as I'm just enjoying my family's presence. Once I'm done I take my plate and cup to the kitchen and hand them to Maria. 

Breakfast was delicious. I say

Thank you. I will see you at the BBQ in a few hours. Maria says

I walk up to my room and go straight to the bathroom. I hop in the shower and take an extra long steamy shower. Once I'm ready I get out and wrap the towel around me. I dig out my makeup I'm going to wear along with my curling iron. I plug in my curling iron and than get dressed. I wrap my beautiful long blonde hair in the towel and wash my face. Than I start to apply my foundation and concealer. Next my eye primer, eye liner, and mascara. Than I move onto some eye shadow, lip liner, and lipstick. After that I put all my stuff I already used in my suitcase. I take out my hair which is still a little damp and I put some product in my hair to help from damaging my hair. I curl my hair and put some hairspray in it but not the kind that makes your hair stiff.  I do some other things and when I'm done I look in the mirror my long blonde hair was on point and even though it was curled it still went down to the middle of my back. I was wearing a nice semi short black dress that showed off the girls a little. The dress showed all of my curves but I didn't care because I was pretty petite so it's not like I had a ton of curves to show off. I wore beautiful black high heels that match my dress.

Oh look it's time for the BBQ. I tell Alicia

I walk downstairs and am greeted with smiles and hugs from all of my friends and family and even people who I weren't friends with but got along with. I opened presents which consisted a lot of stuff to go along with having a mate. We ate cake and had a great time.

I was dancing in the back yard with some friends when my mom walked over and said he's here. 

Where? I ask 

Over there. She said tilting her head 

I look over and sure enough he was standing by the backdoor watching me. We made eye contact and he grinned. 

Alpha Jackson stands 6'9. He has short dark brown hair with icy blue eyes, he's very tan and muscular. I could see his muscles through his t-shirt that hugged his biceps. He has pearly white teeth and a small scar above his eyebrow. 

I looked at my mom and asked What should I do? 

Go to him. Bow and say hello. She said

So I walked over to him bowed my head and said Hello Alpha Jackson

Get up. Alpha Jackson said

I was stunned but did what he said

He looked me up and down and than said dang your hot. I definitely made the right choice with picking you. 

I just stood there awkwardly not knowing what to say. 

You know you don't have to be so shy around me. I am your mate and you are mine. You don't have to bow to me or call me Alpha. We are equals. You may call me Jackson. Said Jackson

Yes if that's what you want. I say 

This looks like a great party you have going on. Jackson said 

Yeah it's my birthday party. I say

Speaking of which Happy Birthday and I also got you something. He said as he pulled out a little black box from his pocket

He opened the box and inside was a little gold ring. This is called a friendship ring. Eventually we'll be more than just friends but until we get use to each other just treat me like you would one of your friends. Jackson says as he slides the ring on my ring finger

Thank you. I say

Now I hate to cut the party short but we really have to get going. Jackson says

Okay. Can you give me 10 minutes to grab my stuff and say goodbye? I ask

Of course. Jackson says

I hurry up and say goodbye to everyone and grab my stuff. I follow Jackson out front to the driveway where two SUVs were parked. Samantha comes out with her stuff and just stands there for a minute not knowing what to do. 

Your mate is waiting for you in the first SUV. Jackson says

Thank you. Samantha says as she heads to the first SUV

I follow Jackson to the second SUV and the driver gets out and puts my stuff in the SUV. We climbed in the back and we took off with me looking back at the pack house I have spent the last 18years of my life living in.
