I got to my chamber and quickly slip into my nightwear. I sat on my bed talking to myself

“How dare Rhett go against me? He dare to try his luck on the throne with me? And how could those elders stand before me and tell me a woman can’t rule them? Wasn’t I the one that lead them to victory five years ago during the war, which their beloved king, Killian had run from? Such ingrates they are,” I cursed. “They are undeserving of my kindness and they should be worthy of a queen such as myself ruling them. Yet they stand before me and demand a king.”

I drew out a picture of my mum and dad out of the second drawer of my desk.

“Hmm,” I sighed heavily. “How I have longed to see you both. How I wish you both were here today to see how much I have achieved. No one did it for me, not my uncle, not his wife, not Ricky, not Killian, not anybody. I, Laura! Did this. How I long to share my accomplishments with you both. I miss the both of you even when I don’t know you. I never got the chance
