Awakening to a Stranger

Author: Aurora
(Aurora's POV)

I opened my eyes to find Alexander studying me intently. The moment our gazes connected, my heart sank. There was nothing there - no recognition, no shared history, no intimate knowledge behind those amber eyes. Just curiosity and polite interest.

Alexander Blackwood still didn't remember me.

"Aurora?" he said, my name sounding foreign on his lips. "I'm sorry, I still can't remember anything from before."

I gently took his hand in mine, trying to ignore how much weight he had lost. His fingers felt brittle in my grasp, like moon-willow twigs that might snap under too much pressure.

"It's okay if you can't remember," I assured him, summoning warmth into my smile. "I'll just tell you everything about our past, bit by bit."

Before I could say more, the healing den door burst open. A crowd of Blackwood pack members filed in—Thomas Blackwood and his mate Katherine, Richard Blackwood and his mate, several energetic pups bouncing around their legs, and the perpetually sul

  • Alpha’s Regret After His Abandoned Luna Left   A Gift From the Past

(Aurora's POV)The black ceremonial SUV rolled smoothly to a stop in front of the Silver Pine Trading Post. Night had fallen over the territory, the stars peeking through the trees above. As the pack enforcer stepped out to open my door, I caught the fresh forest scent that always clung to Master Ashwood's establishment.Eva Dawnrunner exited from the other side, her notebook clutched to her chest as always. She'd been unusually quiet since Alexander had appeared at the council meeting this morning. As I stepped out of the vehicle, my gaze instinctively swept the area – a habit formed over years of pack leadership. That's when I saw it – a familiar vehicle parked across the road.Elder Thornwood's ceremonial transport.I froze momentarily, surprised to see him here. He was seated in the driver's position, and beside him sat a beautiful she-wolf, her head tilted toward him in intimate conversation. Their postures spoke of a connection just shy of open affection, yet clearly more th

  • Alpha’s Regret After His Abandoned Luna Left   Rekindling Flames

(Alexander's POV)I stood at Aurora's office doorway, taking in the sight of her behind the desk that was once mine. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Blackwood Pack Holdings headquarters, casting her in a golden glow as she focused intently on the territory reports before her.A complicated mix of emotions churned within me—bittersweet nostalgia for the position I'd lost, and aching concern for the she-wolf who now carried my former burdens. Running this vast territory while raising three pups seemed an exhausting prospect, even for someone as capable as Aurora Winters.Though my memories had fully returned, I'd chosen not to reveal this fact. Sudden declarations would undermine Aurora's public standing and shake the pack's territory rights holders' confidence, especially after Ruby Stone's strategic moves to stabilize market perception. There was also the matter of the Advanced Moon-Crystal Communication project bid. Winning it was crucial for our pack

  • Alpha’s Regret After His Abandoned Luna Left   The Assistant

(Alexander's POV)I finished my shower and pulled on a dark ceremonial robe, enjoying the freedom of movement in my limbs. Lifting my right arm, I examined it with quiet satisfaction. Once nearly useless from the accident, it now responded to my commands with growing strength. My fingers flexed easily—enough that I could sign my name to territory deeds again. The ancestral den was quiet in the evening hours. I padded across the plush bedroom floor to check on Lily, who slept peacefully in her carved pine crib.Looking down at her tiny form, I felt a swell of emotion. This was truly my little she-pup. My daughter. Even with my memories slowly returning in fragments, the connection I felt to her was unmistakable.I bent to kiss her forehead, and her lips curled into a tiny smile in her sleep, as if sensing my presence. My heart squeezed in my chest."Sleep well, little one," I whispered, gently stroking her dark hair.Almost by instinct, I began humming a pack lullaby. The melody c

  • Alpha’s Regret After His Abandoned Luna Left   Awakening

(Alexander's POV)I opened my eyes to the familiar sterile scent of the Pack Healing Den. My head throbbed with a dull ache as I tried to piece together what had happened. The last thing I remembered was riding in the SUV with Kaelen, then a sudden jolt as we swerved to avoid something on the territory road.Fergus Yu leaned over me, his unusual gold-flecked green eyes narrowed in concentration as his fingers probed my scalp. Though his touch was gentle, I couldn't help wincing."Hold still, Alpha Blackwood," he instructed. "I need to check if there's any lingering damage."Around him, my family clustered anxiously. Richard's mate hovered closest, her face a mask of distress. When Fergus finally stepped back, she immediately surged forward to cradle my face in her trembling hands."I told you, Alexander just had the healing ritual and his head is still delicate," she lamented, shooting an accusatory glance toward the door where Kaelen likely stood. "Pack Enforcer Kaelen was so car

  • Alpha’s Regret After His Abandoned Luna Left   Fragments of Memory

(Aurora's POV)I closed my eyes and let out a low laugh. "You don't remember?"I turned around, facing him directly. Our bodies were close enough that I could feel the warmth radiating from him. With deliberate slowness, I reached up and gently ran my fingers over his lips, pressing softly and lingering there. My green eyes held his gaze intently. The mood between us shifted, charged with something dangerous and clear."There are some things the body remembers, even when the mind forgets," I whispered.(Alexander's POV)Her touch ignited something primal inside me. Despite my amnesia, my Alpha instincts surged forward, recognizing her challenge.I seized her wrist, pulling her hand away from my face. My amber eyes darkened as I stared down at her."Who would have thought," I said, my voice dropping to almost a growl, "Alpha Winters has such rare taste?"Our gazes locked in wordless understanding. The pretense that had existed between us since my awakening suddenly fell away. S

  • Alpha’s Regret After His Abandoned Luna Left   Family Bonds

(Alexander's POV)A peaceful quiet settled over the ancestral den as night fell. The bustling activity of the day had given way to a serene calm. The pack members who had filled the halls with their voices and energy had departed, leaving only Kaelen behind to watch over us.I reclined on the plush fur-covered resting couch in the master suite, my body still recovering from the healing ritual. But the physical discomfort seemed trivial compared to the warmth spreading through my chest as I watched my children.Daniel sat cross-legged beside me, his brow furrowed in concentration as he showed me his pack history homework."Alpha Dad," he said, pushing a scroll toward me. "Can you help with these questions about the Great Territory Wars?"Though I couldn't recall learning about these events myself, the answers came easily. "The Northern Packs united under Alpha Stoneclaw during the third moon of winter," I explained, watching his eyes light up with understanding."That's it!" Danie
