Chapter 8

"Oh, God!"

"What the hell was that?"

Ethan and Andra almost jumped off their beds when they heard the blaring noise of an alarm. When they both looked at their window, the hasn't even risen yet. Sighing heavily in unison, the siblings went back to bed, and attempted to go back to sleep. They were almost asleep again when the loud sound of the alarm rang one more time.

"Wake up, sleepyheads. Breakfast is ready. Training will start at exactly five in the morning. Anyone who's not at the dining hall in ten minutes will not eat anything for breakfast."

Because of what Barry said, the two of them run to their bathrooms to fix themselves. In exactly ten minutes, both Andra and Ethan are sitting on their spots at the dining table. Barry joined soon after, and they all have a quiet breakfast together. Then, at exactly five in the morning, Barry called them at the back of their house.

Ethan had always wonder why there's a huge vacant space behind their house. When they were young, they used to play on that spot, but as they grew older, that spot became an unattended part of their house, especially their parents died. But, today, the spot became unrecognizable. it looks like Barry cleaned it, and trimmed the grass before they woke up.

"You both said you want to continue your parents legacy. Now, you will realize that it's not a game. You will run from this spot and around the property for fifty times. Go."

The siblings didn't say anything. They both had enough experience in physical fitness to know that running is a part of warm up routine. Barry watched as they both run fifty times around their property, and when they're done, Barry gave them a stretching routine. At first, they are still enjoying the things that Barry asked them to do.

"Uncle Barry, we asked you to train us, not to torture and punish us." Ethan complained. Barry's activity for them was walk on a thin plank of wood while carrying two blocks of cements on each hand. They were required to do it back and forth for fifty times.

"Uncle, are these really necessary?" Andra asked. It's already evident in her that she's starting to feel tired.

"Yes, that is necessary. We don't have much time to train you. Unlike other hunters in your family that had their whole childhood to train, you two are considered late bloomers. So, I will squeez in every combination training I know to help you prepare as fast as we could. I don't remember giving you the permission to rest. Another twenty lapse"

Even though Andra and Ethan can feel their arms, shoulders, and legs already aching, they did what their Uncle Barry told them. Walking the plank of wood back and forth while carrying those block of cement. Both of them can feel their legs trembling.

"Oh, thank God!"

"Damn it!"

Both of them fell on the ground after letting go of the blocks of cement. They on the trimmed grass with a heavy breathes. The sun is already up in the sky, and their bodies are already covered in sweat. They can both feel their body pulsing with heat and adrenaline.

"Up. You're not done yet." They heard Barry's commanding voice.

They followed Barry further to the woods. It's still part of their property, but they never really spend time on that area. Barry stopped in front a huge military-type obstacles. Andra laughed when she heard Ethan groaned beside him. She can see that her brother is already exhausted, and so is she.

"Get to the end of this obstacles as fast as you can. Then, repeat your stretching routine, and we're done for the day. You have a class by nine in the morning, Ethan. Make sure that you will not put your education aside. See you later, kids." That's Barry's final word for them before he left.

---------------------------------

"Oh, God. My entire body hurts!" Andra complained after taking a warm bath. She can feel her bones cracking with her every move. Every joints inside her body screams in pain.

"See you later, Sis." Ethan waved her goodbye. It's time for him to go to school. When Andra saw him limping because of exhaustion and body pain, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Yeah, Sis. Go ahead, and laugh at me."

"You look like crap, I can't help it."

"I hate you!"

"No, you love me!"

"Bye!"

She can't help but smile when Ethan finally left. Having a brother like him makes her like she's th luckiest sister in the whole world. Her little brother is sweet, caring, protective, and most of all, loving. There is nothing that Ethan wouldn't do for her.

-Flashback-

Andra agreed on a date with Timothy, one of her high school classmates. They haven't seen each other for awhile, and she can't help but notice how he has changed over the years. She thought that it would nice for them to reconnect after a long time.

"Hey, Andra. Hi!" Timothy gave her a peck on the cheeks.

"You look good." Andra stated. It's true, because the Timothy she remembered was fat, with a face covered with acne.

"You, too. Well, you've always been one of the most beautiful girl in school."

They are having a good time catching up with each other when Andra felt the need to go the comfort room. What she didn't know is that Timothy had some bad intention on her. When she came out of the comfort room, she was shocked to see her younger brother beating the life out of Timothy.

"Ethan! What are you doing?" They were at a fine dine restaurant, and it was good thing that there was not so many customers at the time.

"Look at his jacket pocket. Just look! Go ahead!" Ethan said to her. She did as her brother said, and what she got on his pocket shocked her to the core. "That bastard put a drug on your wine. I'm going to kill you, you son of a b*tch!"

-End of Flashback-

Ethan was the younger one, but he law as protected her. No matter what happens, he was always for her. He doesn't care if he has to sit on the side of the road to wait for her, what matters is, he can ensure her safety. Andra loves her brother so much, and she will everything for him.
