Iris's POV
“I’ll show you why they call me the beast Lycan.” His deep, cold voice resonated.
I could see fear flash in my father's eyes as he gritted his teeth and stared at me with hate-filled eyes.
Lucian still held my father's hand, and from the expression on his face, he was in pain. The sound of bones cracking filled the place, and my father screeched in pain.
“Argggh!” He yelped as he staggered.
Mum rushed out of the house with worry in her eyes. She stared in confusion at the scene before her.
“You hit my future wife with those hands. Today, I’ll make sure you don't get to use them for a long time.” He said, his voice dripping with malicious intent.
I watched as he walked towards my father, noting how long his legs were.
“Azariel,” Lucian called out, and I wondered who he was referring to.
Someone stepped out of the frontseat of the car; his driver. He gave off an eerie vibe, as a strong aura surrounded him. Half of his face was covered with his hair. He had cold, silvery eyes that seemed to stare into one's soul.
“Yes, my lord.” He answered as he bowed with one knee before Lucian.
“Whip him.” He ordered.
Huh? Whip who?
My eyes widened in shock as my eyes darted from my father to Lucian.
“As you wish, my lord.” Azariel stood, giving a deep bow to Lucian before pulling my father up roughly.
“Iris, wha…wha…what is going on?” My mother stuttered as she walked towards me.
“Who are they?” She asked.
I tore my gaze away from my father and stared at my mother.
“You don't even know the person I’m getting married to.” I let out a dry laugh despite the situation.
“I'm sorry.” She muttered, tears welling up in her eyes as she lowered her gaze.
Guilt gnawed at me as I stared at her pitiful figure. I shouldn't have said that; it wasn't her fault. There was nothing she could do. If she such as much opposed, she’d be as good as dead.
I wondered how life would have been if my mother were much stronger, if she could speak up more. There wouldn't be much difference, as my father would still end up beating her twice as much.
“I'm sorry,” I muttered as I pulled her into a hug.
“I'm the one who should apologise. If…if I weren't this weak, I should have run away with you to another pack. And…and we’d have a better life.” She sniffed. “Then you wouldn't have to marry the beast king.”
I hugged her tightly, ignoring whatever was going on with my father. It warmed my heart that my mother had such thoughts for us.
“He is the beast king, right?” My mother asked as we broke the hug, and I nodded.
I turned to face them, and Azariel held a horse whip. I looked at my father, who was now sprawled on the ground, shaking.
I watched as Azariel raised the whip in a bid to hit my father.
“Wait,” Lucian commanded, and his hands came to a halt.
He turned to face me, I couldn't see his face but I could feel his eyes boring into me. He walked with long strides towards me, and stared down on my clothes.
I shifted uncomfortably and looked down on my clothes wondering what was wrong with it. I was dressed in a big shirt and trousers, to makey escape easier.
I felt my mother pull me closer, and I held onto her for comfort.
“Don't worry, mother-in-law, I won't hurt her.” He uttered, which made me raise my brows.
Then he got closer and raised his hands to my shirt, which he partially tore off. My eyes widened as it happened in a flash.
My shoulders were exposed, revealing scars from my father's whip, which were fading. He traced his cold fingers from my shoulders to my back, which made me wince. There were still some fresh bruises which were yet to heal.
“Nm, I thought as much.” His voice grew several degrees colder.
“Azariel, strip him.”
I watched in shock as his driver, Azariel, tore off my father's clothe,s leaving him in only his briefs.
“Let me goo!” My father yelled as he tried to fight back, but his efforts were futile; Azariel was very much stronger.
Azariel didn't look like an alpha; in fact, he didn't even have the aura. But there was something about him, otherworldly in a way I couldn't explain.
My father's scream filled the place as Azariel lashed him. His back was covered with red stripes, which I had become accustomed to seeing on my body.
I should be crying, I should be yelling at Lucian to stop. But instead, I felt satisfied; I felt this joyful feeling as I watched him being lashed.
I covered my mouth in shock at the way I felt when I saw my father getting hit. I looked at my mother, and I could swear I saw a satisfied expression on her face.
“Enough. Though I'm not satisfied, I’ve got things to do.” He said, and Azariel withdrew the whip.
Then he walked and bent in front of my father, who lay on the ground, groaning in pain.
“I hope you’ve learnt never to lay a hand on what’s mine. The moment you agreed to the marriage, you lost all right to touch her.” He voiced before standing.
“Let's go.” He paused where I stood with my mother.
“Please, let me say goodbye,” I begged.
He gave me a long stare, watching as I whispered words to my mother. Giving my mother one last look, I finally left with Lucian.
On getting to the car, another car drove past us, halting. Then someone stepped out, it was Jacob.
I felt everything stop as my heart ached. My feet felt rooted to the ground, and I couldn't move. I saw the way he stared back and forth from Lucian to me in confusion. Before I could do anything, a hand wrapped around my waist and carried me up.
It was Lucian, he stared at me with something flickering in his eyes. Then he slowly leaned in.
“You're not allowed to look at other men like that except from me.” He whispered.
Iris's POV I took a deep breath, taking a look in the mirror at my new look. My brows were unusually fuller, my hair was now a short, wavy brown hair. And my eyes where bright blue. The YouTube video I watched overnight helped in the makeup I used in making my jaw more sharper to look like a males. I was dressed in a well ironed blue shirt, and an extra baggy jeans.Yes, don't judge me. I know it looks weird, strange, bizarre name it. But that was the only way I could hide the goddamn hips. I had tried dressing in corporate trousers, but it didn't work. I made sure to carefully wrap my boobs so it wasn't be visible. I ran my hands on my fake six packs and giggled. Samantha bought it from a cosplay store. I wore by boots and I was good to go. I beamed as I looked into the mirror, I looked like a cute, young man. I slipped on my Lacoste bag, and just then, I heard knocks on the door.“Iris, it's us.” I heard Rhea say.I sighed in relief as I walked to open the door. They trooped in,
Lucian’s POV Konstantin led me into the mansion, where some other gods were. As I made my way in, all gazes were on me. Some filled with fear, some scorn, and others just for staring sake.I guess some of them might probably know my father, or the incidents from years back when I went berserk. Or the time when I came with my father when he had dealings with the gods.“I really didn't expect your visit, Lucian.” Konstantin chuckled as he flipped his long, silvery hair.“I guessed I missed you.” I said.“Sarcasm at its peak.” He chuckled, “Since you're here, let's make your time here a memorable one.”He clapped his hands, and a group of women came in. Scantily cladded in shimmering clothings. They carried trays and dropped them on the table. The trays were filled with dishes of different kinds, and I noticed something, the meat was raw.“Does it bring back memories?” He smiled as picked up the knife and fork, slicing into the meat and chewing it.I knew what he was talking about, the
Iris's POV Everything just felt surreal, I was going to become a council member real soon. Something I had just done without putting too much thought into it, turned out to be successful. I couldn't fully express how happy I was.“What about your college dreams?” That nosy voice chipped.“Shut up. It's the council now.” I smiled at the end of my sentence.I’d get paid a lot of money as a council member especially if I get promoted. And I planned to work my ass out for that. I imagined myself being congratulated and awarded by the head council, for my great investigative skills.“Girlll. You aren't even there yet, such big dreams!” The voice said.“If you don't keep quiet, I’ll get you out of my head.” I said out loud to myself.“Well, well, well. Seems someone is going insane. Oops, I should probably leave and get the asylum number.” Darius made himself present. The damn shadow was back!I gently massaged my forehead as his presence came with a headache.“What happened to using the d
Lucian’s POV It was daytime already, and I had already left the region of the blood moon pack. By now, Azariel and Ariel would finally realise what I had done. Knowing how stubborn they were, they’d probably try to search for me and track me, but Azariel would definitely know what to do.He’d be pissed, and angry but at the end, he was the calmer and more reasonable among both of them. I decided to stop by a nearby pack before continuing my journey. I stopped at Black Heart Pack, which was several miles away from blood moon. Landing on a pole, I subtly jumped down the ground, blending with people before anyone would notice. I was in the busy streets of Black heart. There was a huge, nearby hotel. I teleported to it, checking the place out. It was to my taste, so I decided to have a rest there.“Here is your room key sir.” The receptionist handed over a key with the inscription; ‘154’ written on it.I felt gazes on me as I made my way towards my appointed room. Some one must have de
Iris's POV The rays of the sunlight hit my face and turned on the bed, groaning before slowly sitting up. The curtain was slightly parted, same with the window and the sun seeped in.It was closed, and I was sure that it was that bastard that opened it. Talking about him…how did I get to the bed?I remembered that after much grumbling, and waiting for him to leave, he didn't. Yet he laid comfortably on my bed. I had no choice but to make use of the sofa. Then how did I get here…The idiots must have placed me here. I wondered when he woke up, and when he left. Instinctively, I shifted towards where he laid and sniffed it. His earth and mint scent filled my nose and I closedy eyes. What the hell…I jerked back, shifting away from the place he laid. Dear me,What was I doing? I took several breaths in and out, calming myself. I remembered my silliness yesterday and my face palmed. What was I thinking when I tried to push him off yesterday? The bastard had taken advantage of that and
Lucian's POV “Hm, I’ve been called that many times. It isn't new.” I shrugged.“What do you want from me, Lucian?” She asked, her shoulders dropping.“You.” I said, and watched her go through different stages of emotions before she glared at me.“I want to sleep, and I’d prefer being alone.” She mumbled.“Go ahead.” “I’ll do so when you leave, I want my space.”“There's no such thing as space between husbands and wives.” I said, playing with a piece of cloth. She looked angry, frustrated, tired and exhausted at the same time.“I guess I’ll leave the room for you then, bastard.” She muttered as she made to leave the room.Snapping my fingers, the door banged shot. Her eyes widened as she faced me, before reaching out for the door handle. She tried to pull it opened, but no matter how she tried, it just wouldn't bulge.“Flaunting your powers, huh?” She scoffed, “Undo whatever you did, now.”Her voice was low, stern and commanding like a mother hen scolding her chicks for going stray.
