Chapter 19

Elena woke up to another brand new day. Her eyes met the blinds of the window still closed, but there was still sun streaming a bit out of it. She sat up from the bed, looking at the time. It was eight in the morning.

She sighed, knowing Alex already left for work again, taking the kids with him to their new school. Thankfully, those kids haven't caused any problems whatsoever.

These days she's been finding it hard to catch him going to work, although he says he wakes her up before he goes but she just never remembers and she hated it.

The doorknob clicked, causing her heart to skip a beat, then her brow raised as she saw Alex walking in with his face focused on his phone. He was dressed casually. White T-shirt and black trousers. It confused her.

He looked away from his phone to see she was finally awake. "Hey, sleepy head. Good morning." He greeted her with a smile on his face and sat on the bed, facing her. "How was your sleep? I bet it was fine."
