6-The Truth is Scary

But nothing happened. All I saw was the crazy on the floor passed out.

"Sh- she had fangs, red eyes." I was reaching out for air. "SHE LICKED MY BLOOD."

"Seraphina, calm down."

I saw red eyes. I was going insane. "This doesn't exist. It just belongs in books and movies." I held my head like those people who are going mad when things just don't make sense.

When I saw my blood dripping from my arm, the room started to spin. I can't see blood. Makes me dizzy.

"Stay with me." I heard voices in the background far away. And before I knew it, I fainted.

......

Phoenix

I took her home. I couldn't take her to hers since she saw everything and I need to compel her to forget. She can't handle the truth. Cause for her, this is a scary truth. She isn't ready just yet.

"Brother dear, you'll need to remove that bracelet she's carrying. Otherwise compulsion won't work." Mallory told me.

"What? How do you know this?" Mom asked her.

"Well, I've been able to read her thoughts, but today's impossible since she was carrying that bracelet. I did some research and it protects her from compulsion." She answered.

"Fuck, she was going insane today. I can't let her remember that she saw me in my vampire form." I made a run to the guest room.

"What happened to that girl?" Dad asked Mal.

"Don't worry. She's in the basement locked with vervain." She told them. "That was Valerie Montenegro."

"So, Montenegro sent his daughter. Is he an idiot?" Dad asked.

"Big time. I'm pretty sure he thought that, Valerie would seduce my brother and then kill him in revenge." She answered.

"I see."

"Didn't your visions showed you anything about a bitch coming to town?" She asked which caused our parents to laugh. Yeah Mal has no filter. Our parents gave up trying to correct her.

"It showed a girl. But it wasn't Valerie."

"Then who, dear?" Mom asked concerned.

"Seraphina."

"What?" They all turned to see me.

"She's in danger now that Valerie informed her family who she is and what she means to you. I told you to not go on a killing spree and now look what happened." Dad said while getting up and then left.

"She means nothing to me." I mumbled.

"Right, then tell me why is she in the house? Why protect her when she means nothing to you?" Mom asked me and then left.

"Why am I being blamed for all of this? I saved her ass and now I'm to blame for everything?"

"Well, you did kill one of them. So now, we protect Seraphina. And did you removed the bracelet?"

"I did. I just need for her to wake up to compel her." I told her.

Seraphina

I woke up in a room that wasn't mine. I looked my arm and it wasn't bleeding nor did it had scars. Did I dreamed everything?

"Knock knock."

That startled me, making me jump out of the bed.

"I wont hurt you. I just need to say something." He started to walk my way. To the point I hit the wall and he cornered me.

No words were coming out of my mouth.

"I would never hurt you." He lowered his face till he was just inches apart from mine. "I tried staying away from you. Ignoring you didn't work out. I'm fucking drawn to you, but I'm not good for you."

I might be insane for what I'm about to say knowing what he is. "But, shouldn't I decide whether you're bad or good for me?"

He just smiled. "You're too pure and innocent. I'm really not good for you. All I wanted was to have fun with you and then ditch you."

I knew he was saying this just so I would stay away. And I really should. I mean who the hell likes a vampire. They're not even alive. Yet here I am attracted to one. I seriously need professional help.

His eyes turned red and then he started to say, "Forget-"

"No, you're not going to make me forget." I huffed. "You don't get to make me forget about stuff. Who do you think you are?"

"I'm a monster, but fine. You want to remember, then you will remember meeting me."

He became really angry his face was changing. A little creepy.

"I want you to remember everything that happened a month ago in an alley."

I gasped. "You made me forget meeting you? And why did that man attacked me." It didn't make sense, "Why?" I paced in the room.

"Because a vampire like him kills for fun. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"But that girl wanted to kill me. She also said how you truly felt about me. I'm pretty sure she was lying. But then again she could've been telling the truth." I was still pacing.

"I never talk about you with Valerie. I knew she was bad news. So I wanted to keep her away from you, till I figure what to do about her."

"But why did she attacked me?" I asked.

"Because I killed her father's right hand, which happens to be his brother. Well was. He was the person who attacked you that day. He saw you as his blood bag."

"This is too much information." I started to pace again.

"Seraphina." He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind. It somehow calmed me. "I can make you forget about everything I just told you. We can go back to being just your regular human friends." He whispered everything in my ear. I Became jello.

I turned around and his arms were still wrapped on my waist. "I'm very crazy for what I'm about to say, but I don't want to forget about you. I hate Phoenix; The one that only says hi and bye. Or barely says anything to me. I like this Phoenix, the sweet one." I caressed his face.

"There's no sweet Phoenix. And we can only be friends." He removed his arms from my waist.

"Is it because I'm not pretty? Or because you think you will hurt me?"

"Goodbye, Seraphina. Ask my sister to take you home."

"Screw you." With that said, I walked out of the room. I know that was bold to insult a vampire. But he makes me angry.
