Chapter 22
Clara came back in with Andrew and everyone pretended that they didn't see what they just saw.
Camellia walked up to Andrew and looked at him with her arms crossed like she was upset with him.
“What?” he asked looking at the seven-year-old.
“Do you like my aunt?” she asked.
“Now Cam, don’t disturb our guest.” Jasmin said holding her daughter.
“I don’t like him, mom.” Camellia said.
“Camellia! That is a very bad thing to say” Jasmin reprimanded.
“It’s okay Mrs. Rose.” Andrew said.
“I’m truly sorry Andrew. We spoiled her too much. And call me Jasmin.” She said with a smile.
“Hey, Coco you got two packages. I’ve put them in your room.” Leo told her.
“Who was it from?” Clara asked.
“Don’t know. It didn’t have a return address.”

“Come on I’ll give you the tour of my house.” She said.

Clara's eyes closed tightly, involuntary at the loud bang. She waited for the bullet to take her life but it never came. She opened her eyes to see what had happened and the next thing surprised her. The bullet never went through the window but instead, it had left a really small dent on the window of the car. The man quickly tried to open the door but Andrew was faster. He locked all the doors with the press of a button. He started the car and drove it in the backward direction as fast as he could. He was still fast asleep when his phone rang. He got up tiredly and answered his phone. There was a piece of paper stuck on his face. “Hello. This is Andrew Bloom speaking.” He answered in a sleepy tone, without looking at the caller ID. “Were you sleeping?” Clara asked. He looked at the caller ID with a frown and then answered her. “Yes. I was going to rest my eyes but I ended up falling asleep.” “If it was one of your employees I bet you would’ve given them an earful.” She said. Andrew rolled his eyes. “Haha, very funny.” He said sarcastically. “I wasn’t joking but I’m glad you found it funny.” He shook his head a little and realized that something was stuck on his face. “What are you doing?” he asked taking the piece of paper off. “I just got off work and am heading home. What about you are you still at your office?” He looked at the time and realized that it was way past working time.

“Clara!” she heard Leo’s voice. She looked up and saw that Leo and Jasmin were running towards her. Her tears started flowing again. She got up and ran towards Leo. Clara was stuck inside a dark place. She kept running and running until she found Andrew. She saw him coming towards her but then he stopped when he was close to her.
