Chapter 4

“What the hell happened to you?!” Angelina asked shocked at Clara's appearance as she walked past her.

“The kids were too rough.” Clara just answered without stopping or looking at her.

She went straight into the room and closed the door behind her. She threw her bag on the bed and went into the bathroom. She turned on the tap and splashed the water in her face and then looked at the mirror. Her hair was a complete mess and it was pretty obvious that someone pulled her hair in a cat fight.

She sighed.

“That guy has some serious mental issues.”

She turned off the water and went straight to her bed and collapsed onto it.

There was a knock on the door. The door opened and Angelina poked her head into her room.

“Are you ok?” Angelina asked.

“Never been better.” She said tiredly, without glancing at her.

“Mind tell me what happened? Because I don’t think the kids at the orphanage would be that rough.” Angelina said coming towards her.

She sat beside her on the bed.

“Let’s just say it was a cat dog fighting.”

“Huh?” Angelina couldn’t understand her point.

Just then both their phones beeped twice. Clara lazily took out her phone and looked at the notification.

Her eyes widened and she sharply sat up straight. Even Angelina's mouth was opened wide in surprise.

“What the hell Clay? What this news about you kissing Andrew Bloom in a public place and running away?”

“Can you take care of this please? I’ll explain the situation to you some other time.”

“I’m going to have to make a lot of call to take these articles down. You owe me a good ex-“

Angelina’s phone started to ring.

“Great it looks like now I’m going to have to answer a lot of phone calls too. I don’t get paid enough for this.” She complained.

“I’ll give you a bonus at the end of the month.” Clara said shutting off her phone.

“Ok, deal.”

“Now please answer that thing my head is starting to hurt.”

“Hello, this is Clara Rose’s secretary speaking. How can I help you?” Angelina answered the call and walked out of the room.

“It can get any worse than this.” She said sarcastically.

???

“Uhhh Mr. Bloom we have a problem.” His Secretary said nervously from the other side of the phone.

“What now?” Andrew asked deeply annoyed.

“Well uhhhh...ummm... there are pictures and videos of you… kissing Miss Rose all over the internet.”

“What?” At first Andrew was shocked then he thought about turning the situation to his advantage.

“Make it spread more.” He told his secretary.

“What? I-I mean yes sir I’m on it.”

“Make sure it spreads like wildfire.”

“Yes, Mr. Bloom.” The Secretary said and hung up.

“Hmm not bad, not bad at all.” Andrew said to himself.

He looked at his hand which was covered in blood and he didn’t even remove the broken chunks of glass out of his hand. He was being serious when he said that he was only going to get his hand treated when she agrees to marry him.

 ???

*The next day.*

“Coco, there’s a parcel for you.” Angelina told her carrying a box.

Clara was eating breakfast when Angelina came in with a parcel box.

“Who’s it from?” She asked.

“Leo.”

“Leo?” she frowned taking the box from Angelina.

“What did he send you?” Angelina asked as she got up to find a knife.

“We’ll find out soon.”

Clara took a knife and cut opened the box. She saw a chocolate brown colored coat inside.

“Oh my God!” Angelina took out the coat from the box as she did a letter fell down.

“What are you so excited about?” Clara asked as she picked up the letter from the floor.

“Coco this is a designer coat and it’s a limited addition one too. Do you know how expensive this is? How did Leo managed to buy this beauty. But… this looks like a men’s coat. Oh but whatever it’s gorgeous.”

Clara rolled her eyes at her and opened the letter.

‘Hey Clay. Hope your doing well as always. So hey do you remember the guy from the mall the one who kissed you. Yeah, so he gave me his jacket and I dropped it after you ran away and apparently that guy didn’t pick it up either. An another security guard gave it to me when I went on duty since that guy knows that I know you. So gathering from yesterday’s event I kinda guessed that you knew that guy. So, I sent his coat to you. So, you can give it back to him. Thanks in advance. Have a great day.

P.S. I lost my phone otherwise I would’ve texted you about you earlier.’

Clara snatched the coat from Angelina.

“Hey. Come on share it with me.”  Angelina told her feeling upset.

“Apparently it’ not for you or me.”

“Huh? Then who’s it for?”

“Mind your own business.” She told her talking the coat and the letter with her.

“Who’s it for, Coco?” Angelina asked once more before Clara went into her room and closed the door.

She threw the coat on the bed and ripped the letter into pieces and threw it in the dust bin.

“Now what should I do with you?” she looked at the coat.

“Throw it away? No, no ,no. What if he comes looking for it? We’ll he did leave it at the mall anyone can pick it up right. So I’m just gonna throw you out.”

She took the coat and put it in a shopping bag to throw it out later.

A few minutes later Angelina knocked on the door.

“Coco, come on we need to go to work.”

No answer.

“Coco?” she opened the door and saw that her room was empty.

She called her cellphone.

“What?” Clara answered.

“Where are you?”

“Out.”

“Out where?”

“Angel, start minding your own business and you’ll live longer. And I’ll be reaching the company a little late so you go on without me.” Saying this she hung up.

Angelina looked at her phone dumbfounded.

“She has been hella cranky these past 2 days.” Angelina said to herself.

She was about to leave the room when her eyes fell on the ripped pieces of paper in the dust pin. She remembered that it had dropped out of the box when she took out the coat. She took all the pieces of paper out from the dust pin and took it with her.
