DOMINIC'S POV

The moonlight shined in through the window, casting shadows across my room. I sat at the edge of my bed, my head cradled in my hands.

Sleep had become a fleeting memory, something distant and almost mythical. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her.

Rosie

Her laugh. Her smile. Her chuckling.

Memories of Rosie haunted me, clawing at my mind with every breath I took.

"You did this." Ryk growled, his voice echoing in my head. "You threw her away. You let her go."

I didn't want to remember my rejection to her because Ryk had never stopped talking about it since it happened.

I rubbed my hands down my face, trying to silence him. Ryk had been restless since I rejected her.
