"Slow down, goddamn it!" Kaiden yelled, his grip on the handle tightening as Raymond sped through the street.

"I thought you enjoy speedy rides like this." Raymond smirked, not yielding to his request.

"Says who?"

"Says your passion, Jackie Chan," Raymond teased, a smug smile appearing on his face as he slowed down slightly, then pulled up in front of a mini bungalow. Kaiden stepped down, leaning against the car, catching his breath.

"You see why I'll never like you?" Kaiden groaned, relaxing.

"I only thought of treating my son to what he likes. Sorry if I made you fear," Raymond apologized, locking the car door.

"Fear? You wish," Kaiden scoffed. "Where is this place?" he demanded.

"Kaiden..." Raymond walked to Kaiden's side, meeting his serious eyes. "We're here to rescue your sister, that's if we haven't missed our chances yet. My candid advice is for you to follow my steps when we step into that house. They might be bad guys and I don't want to answer to your mom if y

Raymond insisted on driving Eureka to Melissa’s house. Instead of taking the road that led to Melissa’s place, he turned onto an access road, stepping on the gas and speeding past other vehicles like a bullet.“Are you insane, Raymond! Where are you taking me?” Eureka yelled, grabbing the handle. “Slow down, dickhead. You’re going to get us killed!”Raymond acted like he didn’t hear her and turned on some music, focusing on the road.“Raymond! I’m going to cause an accident if you don’t stop this car right now,” she warned. He didn’t respond. Instead, he increased the volume.“Ugh!” Eureka grunted, clenching her fists as she let go of the handle. “Bloody stop this car right now!” she ordered, grabbing the wheel.“Stop this madness!” Raymond groaned, trying to push her back. She resisted, struggling with him. The car swayed on the road, neither of them letting go.“I said pull over!” she demanded, removing her seatbelt and hitting Raymond’s hands away from the wheel. The car rocked as

Raymond entered the room, holding a tray of food, his phone ringing in his pocket. “Hold on a sec,” he grunted, closing the door and placing the food on the vanity table before dipping his hand into his pants pocket and taking out his phone. A sneer appeared on his face as he stared at the screen. Cassandra calling. He glanced over at Eureka, who was still sleeping on the bed, then answered the call.“It’s too early, Cassandra,” he muttered, entering the bathroom. “What is it?”“Why weren’t you taking my calls? I called a thousand times last night,” she groaned from the other end.“That’s because you gave me a difficult task. Do you think it’s easy to track down Eureka Bennett and capture her? It’s not a piece of cake!” he retorted, frustration on his face, his hand clutching the basin.“I don’t care, Raymond! I hope you’re not trying to betray me again. You won’t like the other side of me. Do you have her with you?” she warned and demanded.“This isn’t the time you asked me to bring

Eureka yawned, sitting up, her arms grazing the ceiling as she stretched. She felt a dull throb in her head, making her wince and grunt. She scanned the purple, dimly lit room, feeling disoriented.“Fuck!” she exclaimed as she recalled the scene where Raymond had crossed her car. “My phone. Where the hell is my phone,” she scrambled out of bed, searching frantically for it.“Looking for this?” Raymond held up her phone as he entered the room, holding a cup of tea. She spun to face him, her hands balling into fists. “I almost thought you wouldn’t wake up tonight,” he smirked. “Want some tea?”“How could you, Raymond?” she snapped. “How could you be so…I can’t even find words to describe you right now. I was so stupid to think that for once, you were starting to fight for me, for my love, only for you to turn around and be working with the woman who wants our kids dead. For the millionth time, I’m regretting ever meeting you. I’ve never met someone as cold,

Eureka was driving home when Raymond blocked her car. She smacked the wheel repeatedly, causing it to honk over and over, yet he didn’t move out of the way.“Can you get that damn thing out of my way?” she snapped. “Not everything is about you, Raymond. I have things to do.” As she whined, Raymond stepped out of his car, walking to hers. He stood at the passenger’s door without saying a word, then she unlocked the door for him. He entered, shutting the door.“I want us to work together. It’s our priority to protect the kids, right? Why are you shutting me out? Look, I know we have our differences. I’ve wronged you a thousand times, and I haven’t been able to forgive myself yet, so you don’t have to forgive me if you don’t want to. But I’m concerned about the kids. Cassandra will go to any length. Your company—I had to double-cross her men. Otherwise, she would have set a bomb in the building. We need to work together to protect our kids. You’ve been doing it alone.

Kailani locked her door, climbed on the bed, and laid face down, crying. She felt all alone again. Why would Kaiden even leave her alone with strangers? Mildred, she knows, hardly comes to the room except to announce that food is ready or they have visitors, like she did earlier. And those guards? What does she know about them? Even though Kaiden knows them, how well can she trust them? Besides, what was she supposed to do when they start shooting guns and all that?Time swept by quickly as seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into two hours, yet Kaiden wasn’t back. Kailani became worried. She sat up on the bed, wiped her tears, and picked her phone from under the pillow. She dialed Kaiden’s number several times, but it wasn’t reachable. She also dialed her mother’s number, and it was busy. At that moment, a knock came on the door, startling her as she cowered back on the bed. The phone slipped from her hand as her heart raced. The knock came again.“What the hell is this? Mom,

Cassandra walked into the room, a cozy, small bedroom with toys littered on the floor. A warm neon light flickered. A teenage boy, the same height and hairstyle as Kaiden’s, sat on a couch, watching soccer on the small flatscreen TV mounted against the wall. He pretended not to notice Cassandra’s presence as he focused on the screen.“Hey, my baby boy,” she sank into the couch beside him, wrapping her arms around him, then kissed his temple.“Let go!” he snapped, pulling away from her.“Oh, come on, son. Are you still mad at me?” she pouted, but the boy didn’t look her way. “I’m sorry. I had a lot to do at the office, that’s why I haven’t been visiting you for a while. Have you forgiven mommy?”“What do you even do, Mom?” he asked, facing her. “We’ve been back in this goddamn country for the past two years. I’m stuck in this house with those straight faces you call bodyguards. You preferred hiring a home tutor for me when I could go to school with

The moment Eureka and the twins returned home, they found Raymond standing by the veranda, waiting patiently for them. Eureka paused for a second, her eyes darkening.“What is he doing here?” Kaiden muttered, already annoyed. As they moved closer, Kailani enveloped Raymond in a tight hug, whimpering while he stroked her hair. “What’s the problem, baby? Why are you crying?” he asked softly.“Why did you have to go, Dad? I missed you a lot,” she expressed while still holding tightly to the embrace.“I missed you more. I’m just putting some things together first, then I’ll be back, okay? Stop crying,” he consoled her.Kailani pulled away slightly, locking eyes with him. “I… we went to see my adoptive mom,” she muttered. “She looks well now. For the first time in years, she hugged me. She didn’t yell at me. She chatted with me, and I felt at peace. But I couldn’t stay with her longer. Mom said she still has a long time to spend at the psychiatric hospital. I’m happy, Dad. But I don’t want

The car parked at a psychiatric hospital garage, Eureka and the twins alighting gracefully. “Just wait up for me. I’ll go see one of the doctors, then we can see her, okay?” Eureka told them.“Got it,” Kaiden affirmed, leaning against the car and holding up his phone.Kailani, on the other hand, fidgeted, rubbing her clammy hands on her dress. She suddenly looked pale and nervous, her heart thumping faster.“If she causes you so much anxiety, then why are we here?” Kaiden asked, noticing her uneasiness.“Kaiden, do you think she’s healing… fast now? Do you think… she still hates me?” she queried, her voice shaky.“How am I supposed to know all this, Kayla? You know you don’t have to be here if you aren’t comfortable, right? I could call Mom and tell her you’ve changed your mind,” he stated, his tone cold.Kailani took a deep breath, trying to relax her mind. “No, don’t,” she confirmed. “I really want to see her. I don’t know why I’m scared; I guess she can’t hurt me anymore, right? Le

“Hi, honey. How are you feeling today?” Eureka asked, sitting on the edge of the bed by Kailani's side.Kailani sat up, pulling the blanket off her legs. "I saw them again,” she muttered, hanging her head low.Eureka placed her hand on the girl's and sighed. "It's okay. It's going to take time to forget everything. Or… do you want to share exactly what happened with Mom?” Eureka asked, hoping the girl found the courage to tell her this time. If she couldn't speak to her own mother, how could she open up to a therapist?Kailani went quiet for a minute. “I can't, Mom," she whispered.“May I know why?"Kailani glanced at her curious mom, then shook her head. “Can I tell you when I'm ready?"“You have all the time in the world, sweetie. Just know that I'll always be here whenever you need me."“Thanks, Mom. Can I ask you a favor, please?"“I'll do anything for you," Eureka said, gently squeezing the girl's hand.“Can… can I see my second mom?” she asked, her voice cracking."Do you really
