CHAPTER 139

ZYLIAH'S POV

I knocked on the door of his library, my nerves wrought with tension. I hoped this would be productive. It was the only way for me. I couldn't do it without his permission.

No response.

I knocked again. Urgently and a bit louder this time.

"Who's there?" He sounded gruff. Was he busy?

"It's me. Zyliah."

"Come in."

I opened the door. There he was, sitting behind his desk, documents scattered. My eyes covertly scanned the corner beside his chair. The documents were still there, but I noticed some of them were now scattered on his table. The rest were still in their position.

"How are you?" he inquired, looking up from the papers.

"I'm fine." I cleared my throat, moving forward, my steps uncertain, but I couldn't let him know how nervous I currently was.

"Do you need something?" he asked, then quickly added before I could respond, "Have you packed your bags? We're leaving in two days."

I nodded. "Yes. I'll get the rest of my things packed later on tonight or tomo

CHAPTER 140ZYLIAH'S POVShe appeared confused, furrowing her brows at me. Through the glass of a display case housing a beautiful array of women's designer scarves, I spotted one of the guys patrolling.I pointed at the glass so the young salesgirl saw him.She quietly pulled me into a hidden corner packed with clothes of different sizes and textures. "Why don't we call the cops, and you'll be safe here until they come?"I noticed a customer in blue shorts and a brown hoodie looking in my direction, but it was only briefly before she continued checking out the section where they displayed buttoned shirts for females."Please, don't call the cops. Their boss has an inside man in the police department. It's of no use. They'll just take me to the station under the guise of protecting me and keep me there until he comes to take me away. Please, help me."And it was true. I knew that the only way Martino had freed me from the cell after being arrested by Sayge was because he had connectio

CHAPTER 138SABRINA'S POV"Hey, Mom." I entered the hotel we had recently just moved into.We couldn't afford the first hotel anymore, and so we had to find an even cheaper hotel than the previous one."Hi." She studied my face. "How did it go?"My mouth widened in a grin. "As planned."She was still studying my face. "Then what happened to you? He hit you again?"I shrugged. "Mom, it doesn't matter. I'm just happy the plan worked. Moreover, I believe he'd go back to loving me and being the husband he used to be before these childbirth issues ruined everything. And that stupid Zyliah." I frowned in confusion as I remembered how Fynn had accused me of kidnapping Zyliah—which was true. But then he hinted at her being missing again. Although I might be wrong, I think that was probably true. I mean, she hadn't been home when I'd covertly snuck into the house."Do you think it is worth staying with a guy who hits you whenever he gets the chance and leaves your face and body in a terrible s

It's getting to be a problem, sir."The phone was on loudspeaker, and he was in his room making this call. For the past few days Martino wore a worried expression while making shady calls. While it wasn't my business to interfere in whatever concerned him since I literally didn't care about the man, those secret calls piqued my curiosity. At first, I'd thought it was concerning my company. Something relevant that would help him and my dad carry out their evil plan, I thought to listen in and relay it to my best friends so it would keep them steps ahead. For now, they were the only ones I trusted to keep my company safe, but I couldn't tell them I had regained my memory. Not just yet.But what I'd discovered was even more surprising. Martino had sent Sara to steal those d

CHAPTER 136FYNN'S POV"Where is my wife?" I demanded of the first maid I saw, the question tearing from my throat. I'd already turned the house upside down—our bedroom was empty, her favorite spots deserted."Sir, some men came here to take her away," she said, a quiver in her tone."Some men?" My nerves began to knot, thread by thread, as the seconds passed by. "Who were these men, and why wasn't I informed?""Th-they were in black. Mrs. Delson tried her best to escape, but they came with a gun, and at the time, Naomi was there too. She said Mrs. Delson agreed to go with them so they wouldn't hurt her or anyone," the maid explained."Where's Naomi?" At this point I was trembling inside, but I couldn't show it because of my maid."She's still in a state of shock, sir.""Why didn't anyone call me?" I queried, trying to turn my fear into anger. "My wife was kidnapped in my own home, and none of you could care to help her. You didn't call the cops or me! Now she's gone. How the hell did
