Elena and June spent the afternoon together. They had the same classes and June kept on holding her so tight like she was scared she'd runaway.
June might have noticed, Elena barely spoke. She made sure they didn't dive into any personal question. She didn't want to find herself keeping a distance from her again. She did all the random talking while she just chipped in.
Elena missed her.
"Did I tell you about me and Daniel?"
"Ayyyy," she screamed, pulling her closer. "Spill girl."
Elena smiled. She told her how she saw him and ended up talking for hours.
"You're cute," she cooed. "Just wait, he'll be asking you on a date soon."
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
She tickled her, standing up. "I'll get us something to eat."
Elena nodded, watching her dance towards the cou
"How was school?" Luke asked Elena, handing over a giant lollipop."You first. How was school?""Transfer to my school, if you want to know," he pouted.Elena shook her head. "You're in your final year, I've got one more year. Seriously?""It doesn't matter."She rolled her eyes. "Are you...""School was okay," he cut her off. "Tons of homework.""Mhmm. Same.""And?" Luke stared at her obviously not satisfied with her answer."Someone called June.""I called you about 30mins ago.""Seriously," Elena replied. "It was an unknown number. But I feel like she saved the number as unknown number.""Ohh.""Yeah," Elena replied, immediately wanting to change the topic. "Guess what?""I don't know.""Ivy invited me
Elena groaned internally on hearing the bell ring. Students poured out of classes, probably heading to their next classes. She remained in her seat, picking her books one after the other, almost reading what's on each book before putting it into her backpack. It was a Friday. She had maths for three periods straight- no breaks. She groaned at the thought of it, again. Probably when she was little, she had done something to her maths textbook or her maths teacher to make maths hate her that much. Anyways, the feeling was mutual. Daniel had undeniably helped. At least some formulas came to her head quite easier and some numbers finally decided to dance in a rhythm she understood. Nevertheless, she still hated maths. "Hey," Daniel said, appearing out of nowhere, walking beside her. "Oh Hi," she could have sworn she saw his arms almost go to her
They stepped into Ivy's house, accompanied by the deafening music. Elena clutched on to her purse, glad she needn't worry about her tripping, thanks to her flats. June was excited, way too excited, as she found her way into the crowd, her eyes scanning every corner."Heyy," Ivy screamed through the loud music blaring from the speakers, walking towards Elena and June. She looked gorgeous. She wore an aqua green gown reaching her mid thighs. She was beautiful, even June had to admit. "Did you just get here?""Yup.""Oh okay," she replied. "My brother is, should be around.""Your brother?""Yeah," Ivy smiled. "I didn't forget to tell you, did I? It's my brother's birthday party."True.Ivy's brother. Harry Shane. He was in his final year and quite popular too. With his good looks, brains, and good sense of humor- at least so they said.
Daniel: Asleep already?Elena woke up to a splitting headache and an unread message from Daniel. She rolled on her bed, grabbing her phone, as she swiped it unlock.Elena: Hey, Good morning.Damn, a hundred soldiers marching in her head. She tossed her phone after checking the time. 7:02am. She rolled in bed, again."Elena, get up," her roommate tap her. "You'll be late for prayers.""If the sisters notice I'm not at prayers, tell them I have a terrible headache so I can't get out of bed.""Okay," she replied, getting up from Elena's bed. "You've used meds?""Nah, I'm good."Elena watched all her roommates leave the room one after the other, finally shutting the door. Her phone beeped again, as she sluggishly took it.Daniel: Good morning. How are you? How was yesterday'
“Good luck.”Elena broke free from Luke’s hug, smiling at him.“Are you nervous?” he asked her.“Nope,” Elena replied. “I’m a smartass, you know?”“Yeah. Donald Trump is the president of India too.”“I hate you,” Elena laughed, kicking him. “Just wait and see.”“Ah, yes. I will,” he replied, smirking. “Your eyebrows are at risk.”“Luke, get out,” Elena scowled. “I’m off to school to meet people who BELIEVE in me. GOODBYE!”Luke laughed. “I love youuuu.”True.“I hate you!”----“Elena, give it your all. Don’t try to unnecessarily get stressed. Try your best and
“Elena, Sister Gemma asked me to call you.”“Okay,” Elena replied, putting on her regular flip flops.“She’s along the corridor.”Elena nodded in reply, opening the door to leave. She had gotten in yesterday careful not to collide with any of the sisters. Her roommates were still up when she got in. They had all noticed the smile on her face and asked what happened. Even though she said nothing, she went to bed, her hands clutching her necklace, a half smile plastered on her face.Luke didn’t wait for her, which was unusual. And now that Sister Gemma had called for her so early in the morning, it was even more unusual.“Good morning, Sister Gemma.”“Elena, good morning,” she replied. “How are you?”“I’m fine.”
In no time, Elena and Daniel got to school. Jordan had gotten there already before Daniel and was hovering all over Melanie. She seemed to enjoy the attention as she was also gushing over him.June and Ivy had arrived too, surprisingly together. June was obviously surprised that Elena was going on the trip and failed to hide her what seemed like disappointment from Elena. They got in and sat in the plane in pairs. June with Ivy, Elena with Daniel and Jordan, of course, with Melanie. Elena noticed the look Melanie gave her on seeing Daniel grab her hand, pulling her to sit with him. Elena met her eyes and she immediately flashed a fake smile turning her attention towards Jordan."Nervous?""Just a little bit," Elena shifted. "Okay, fine. I'm nervous."Daniel leaned forward, taking her hand in his. "It's your first time so you should be. There's no need to be though, it'll be
"Let's all go to a restaurant today.'' It was their third day at Ireland. Elena paid almost no attention to Ivy's suggestion as she was too busy searching for the laces to the sneakers she wore the previous day. She could swore she left them by her bed side but to her surprise they had disappeared. She dared not ask June for their whereabouts sure she was going to tease her. 'Are you sure you didn't leave it in Daniel's room?' That was probably what was going to say if she asked her. She groaned at the memory of her mysteriously falling asleep in Daniel's room. On his shoulders too. She couldn't be more glad June decided to come wake her up at 11:48pm. According to June, Daniel had also fallen asleep, his head rested on her head and instead of Jordan waking them up from their unplanned slumber immediately he got in, he stood at a corner of the room quietly watching them sleep. As if June's teas
