Crystina’s POV Through the night, I didn’t sleep a wink. My eyes were fixated on the door as I covered myself with my blanket out of fear that Luka will break the door and walk in to finish what he started earlier and every time I heard a movement outside my door, my ear twitched and I would sit straight, waiting for the dreaded moment to pass. Crystina’s POV My first class was art and I had the class with Paige. After we separated at the school gate, I went on to my locker to get my things while she went to the toilet to change her skirt. It was when she later joined me in class that I realized she was wearing her sportswear trouser, I felt really bad for talking to her that way earlier. I needed to apologize. “I reserved this seat for you,” I tapped the stool next to me as she got closer. She glared at me before dropping her bag on the floor and sitting on the stool. A smile lingered on my face at the thought of her not being mad at me.“I’m sorry about earlier. I shouldn’t have made that comment about your skirt. That was silly,” I grabbed her arm, she rolled her eyes like the drama queen that she was and pinched my cheek. “Ouch,” I cried out,” “You deserve that, silly. LUKA’S POV When Crystina said she didn’t want the phone and the credit card, I was angry but then, I knew I had to be patient with her if I wanted her to trust me. After last night, I realized she’s right to be scared of me or even hate me. I deserve it! I deserve every hate and anger from her. I shouldn’t have done that to her but anger clouded my senses and I found myself hurting my mate. After she ran out of my room, I followed her intending to apologize and hold her close, but as I moved closer to her door, I could smell her fear mixed with her scent. Her heart was beating rapidly and I could hear it from the door. So, I waited for a few minutes, hoping she would calm down and when I realized she didn’t, I walked away. I came back more than five times during the night. She was calm but she was still wide awake. At some point, I crumbled in front of her door as guilt ate me up. Crystina’s POV It was never in my plan to let Luka see the teddy bear I received from Nico. I didn’t even know he recorded his voice in the teddy bear, craziest thing is I never knew such teddy bears existed, if I had known, I would’ve been more careful. When Luka asked me to move into a room on the second floor, I’ve been so bothered about staying next door to him that I didn’t think about him ever noticing the teddy bear.“I love you, my Belle,” The words kept on ringing in my head as I stared at Luka who was glaring at me in turn. His pupils were no longer their usual color, they had turned pitch black and at that point, I knew his wolf was taking over. I swallowed hard as I broke into a cold sweat. Words failed me because I was so scared that whatever I said might annoy him more. “What is this?” He asked, his voice low, husky, and petrifying. I shook my head frantically, not sure about what to tell him. As he took steps closer to me, my mouth opened voluntarily on its own and I

Crystina’s POV “You have to kill me before I get into that car with you,” I refused. How am I supposed to explain to others when they see me alighting from a black sleek car that belonged to their Alpha? What if they find out I’m his mate? I hate the idea of riding in that car the more I thought about it. “You have to get in, Crystina. If you don’t, I’ll be forced to inform Alpha Luka about this,” “Why…” Words failed me as I stared at him in disbelief. I can’t believe I’m being forced to actually ride in his car to school. Frustrated, I sat down in the car, waiting for Derek to get in and drive me to school. It’s not like I have many choices anywhere. I’m almost late for the first class and if he gets Luka involved, I might arrive at school during lunch period. I really don’t want people to find out that I’m Luka’s mate. Luka’s POV “Thank you so much for coming here today, Alpha Luka. We didn’t expect that you would be interested to hear about the school ceremony,” The principal, grinned widely as she smiled at me. “Thank you for having me. It’s safe to say we all know how important that ceremony is. It’s a coming-of-age event for all the pups here. At least, they won’t be pups anymore but full-breed wolves now,” “It’s my pleasure, Alpha. Thank you for coming as well, Beta,” Baba smiled back at her but the smile slipped off in a second and his stoic face reappeared. We both walked out of the Principal’s office and told her not to bother seeing us off. “You can’t stand her for a second, Baba. It’s written all over your face,” “I’m sorry, Alpha,” He bowed. “You don’t have to apologize, I’m just curious about what your history is with her. CRYSTINA’S POV The next time I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was the white ceiling and wall. It took a while for my brain to register where I was. The bed right beside me and the little tag on the door gave it away that I was at the Pack’s hospital. I was so weak that I could barely feel my body. It was as if I’d been made into a punching bag. I tried sitting up but the pressure on my right side made me stop. When I looked down, I was staring at Luka who was in turn, staring outside through the window not realizing that I was staring at him. He was holding my hand tightly, radiating an unexplainable warmth to every part of my body. My eyes went wide as I took in the scene. Unexpectedly, I withdraw my hand from his and that got his attention, I quickly sat up and looked away from him. “You’re awake? How do you feel?” He placed his large palm on my forehead and that made me look at his face involuntarily. His eyebrows were drawn together and a deep frown was plastered on

CRYSTINA’S POV My wolf growled at his choice of words. Not only was I mad but Kris was crazily angry as well. She rarely gets angry but anytime she does, it usually goes out of hand. That’s why I keep her out of my head during school hours. “Over my dead body, Luka. You do not own me and you cannot tell me what to do with myself. If I want to leave, I’ll leave and you’ll do nothing about it,” His hold on my chin tightened. “Look around you, Crystina. Who do you think you belong to other than me? I brought you into this pack and only I can determine where you go next,” He spat. It was obvious that the conversation was not only between us but both our wolves were involved. “NO!” I yelled. “I want to leave, Luka. I’m done with this place,” This was the first time I would be baring my hearts out to anyone other than myself. I was so done with the pack and the burdens that come with it. Every time I look at someone here, I’m reminded of what happened to my father and Luka’s father. I
